There are many of us that are patiently waiting for the Curve (8330) to come to Varizon However, since there is talk about the 9000 being on the Horizon [RIM answer to the iPhone] somewhere around Late Summer or early Fall hopefully. How many of you will fore go the Curve and wait for the 9000 which is suppose to be so much better?

At the moment, there are just a bunch of Rumors. However, with "Apple" upping the ante in the Mobile market, then RIM is force to match the ante of fold their hand.
My reasoning is, for those of us that had purchased a 8830 in the last 6 months or less. Would it be a wise move to jump on the Curve now, only to have regrets or second thoughts in another 6, 7 or 8 months down the road?
After the advent of the 3G tech, it will be quite awhile before the rolling out of the 4G tech which is already being talked about by AT&T.

I am going with the Curve for now - gambling that my contract will be ready for upgrade by the time Verizon adopts the 9000....

And if they adopt the 9000 before your contract is up, will you jump on the 9000 bandwagon?

If you guys waited this long for the Curve, how long do you think you will have to wait for the 9000??? Just jump on the Curve when it comes out!

Thats the boat I'm in. My upgrade date is May 1st. I was gonna wait at least till June when it was supposed to drop, but a free Curve will do fine for the summer now.

heh, from what I understand the 9000 will probably hit AT&T first, and verizon will most likely follow a year later (like they did the curve) so, i'd get the curve first.

Plus the 9000 may be really pricey given its proposed features.

I agree... plus the Curve is a great device!

Besides that, the Verizon Curve will have 3G, something that GSM carriers haven't had yet. The only benefit of the 9000 over the Curve that I've noticed is wifi. Personally, with 3G, I have no use for wifi, as that is much more limited than 3G anyway. Also, the 9000 is a longer and wider looking phone than the Curve. I'm not impressed. Yes, it will come with the 4.5 O/s, but the Curver 8330 will have that too, so, I see nothing different with the 9000 over the 8330 besides wifi, and the fact that it looks wider and longer.

Ha, ATT hasn't even seen the 9000 yet.

Some sites are rumoring ATT exclusive for 6 months, then after that, another year to hit CDMA is my bet.

9000 will hit CDMA in 2010. lol, and i'm actually serious about that.

That why I love AT&T. We always get the devices first. Plus I could never handle waiting a additional year for CDMA devices to come out. That would be too frustrating!

The Curve is the better bet. That's what I'm getting. The CDMA version of the 9000 won't be out for probably a year or more, depending on how quickly RIM produces the CDMA version. But yeah, don't hold your breath.
