Maybe something is being changed or updated on their site. Normally it works as you have said, but glad you got it switched over.

Did you address the issue to them?

Is it rather sad that I have the Verizon CS number memorized? I DID type that from memory.

Couple of reasons this can happen.

    1. there is a problem with the ESN/MEID of the deivce you are trying to activate, or
    2. The data plan while they cost same are different and can prevent the change from happening.

I think you are absolutely right. Probably has to do with the Blackberry Internet Service.

I wasn't even able to get to the esn/meid entry point. It led me straight to my droid x purchase receipt, asked me to verify the numbers and click activate :-\ I of course didn't click activate for fear it might activate my old (sold) droid x.

I had the x, transferred to my old 8330 curve, did this online without a hitch, then acquired a tour 2 weeks later for free so when I tried to change to that is when I began having issues. Oh well, Im sporting my BB tour now and happy so all is well

Thats exactly what I was thinking, but I guess that would be too inconvenient.

I guess if we want to get into details I could have had my girlfriend do it since she works for Verizon, but thats really not the point of this thread now is it?

When I switched from my Storm 2 to the Droid Incredible I could not activate it on line. I was told by support that switching a BBerry world phone with a Droid had to be done on line. Not sure of the technical reasons but it had something to do with the Storm having a sim card and the Droid not having one.
