    If it is a 2 year contract you can still upgrade within 12 months of the end date. So I'm not sure how this would help you very much? Should be eligible for an upgrade next month anyway. I wouldn't cancel and then come back for a Storm 2.

    No ETF there - do an assumption of liability. Get the account holder to call & authorize you to take over the line - you then setup your own account with it. No charge, one year contract & your NE2 date remains intact.

    I currently have one of the blackberry plans and have the storm 1. I want to get the storm 2 when it comes out and i have several questions. I want to add a new line but Ive been putting it off til the storm 2 comes out. If i add a line when the storm 2 comes out since im adding a line will I be able to get the phone at a discount price? After I get the phone can I use it on my first line and switch the other one to my second line? If so, will they still both be able to be under insurance? I have no credit and when I started my account 13 months ago I had to pay $120 will I have to do so for this line as well?

    Thanks for quick response.

    I have done all the above. I've wiped the phone, upgraded OS and reinstalled everything as per another post relating to memory leak. It seems that only portion of the screen is non-responsive. It's subtle and won't do it every time. Thanks again!
    Damned touch screens! That's a little different to the original report - it could be hardware related if there's one area doesn't work. I will defer to the Storm specialists for their opinions but if it is an intermittent fault you can bet it won't appear when there's a tech watching.

    I still wouldn't hold much hope of a simple replacement bringing a different model. You would need to check your upgrade schedule for that.

    This is true but you may want to mention the NE2 discount, sometimes that and/or the upgrade gets messed up when doing a TOL may want to double check it when its transferred, really depends on the rep you get but I've heard many horror stories

    Yes you will get the discount, yes you can switch it, insurance is technically on the line not the device now but you may want to tell them (VZW) your plan so the account is noted properly to avoid future issues.
    Probably wont need the deposit if you have payed your bill mostly on time, rule of thumb with that is 6 months of good payment and your deposit goes down a level so if it was 400 it would be 125, 125=0 etc its not exact but 13 months is way long you should be straight
    EDIT: also if insurance isnt interupted at all and all is done same day that will help alleviate confusion and possible non coverage for asurion

    haha funny you say that. I hear those lines 90% of the time and it gets old and overused.

    If you want a hookup = be nice, be cool and ask for something specific. You will have a much better chance of getting something from the average rep. I've done plenty of "hookups" in this situation VS the business remark.

    And please don't lie and make your story sound worse than it is. For example: "I've had 5 replacement phones and this is just getting ridiculous!!" -- then we look on the account and see this is the only replacement phone you ever had.

    If you only knew how many PrePaid customers say their phone is their "bidness" phone!

    I have heard many too - on one of my accounts, a coding error once left me without an NE2. Took them what seemed like forever to fix it.

    I didn't think you were referring to PrePay - I was just saying lol.. Our center used to take prepaid tech calls with Alltel so we got to hear a lot of crazy stories on how important they are. Like it's costing them $3,000 an hour to be on the phone with us.

    But I understand where you're coming from - it's just that in our area we have a lot of people using that phrase and then be rude about it. So the whole "nice" thing gets thrown out along with their hookup haha..

    heres my Question: Love my storm but i have had to change it bout 7 times for certian problems and i have had it. i really dont want ot leave. VZW cause i have been wit them for over 10 years is there anything i can do to get this resolved wit out getting rid of the storm.

    my first phone lasted me almost 6 months. now i have been getting refurb after refurb the a whole new one out the box twice now it still having issues. it has been not getting emails then i have to reset it via ## u know what i mean. then i get my emails. now if i do a battery pull or a soft reset via the quick pull app i wont get my emails. i have done it all hard reset to wipes to everything im quite savy when it comes to my BB. please help. they keep on offering me to trade up to the tour and i dont want it. I like the touch screen...


    Help a brother out.....PLEASE

    Okay, so you want to keep the Storm, but you want a resolution to your problem? The only possible resolution has been given to you already. Refurbs and then a brand new storm. THEN the option to go to the Tour. But you want to stick to a device that is obviously not meeting your expectations?

    Realistically what you MIGHT be able to do is wait until the Storm 2 has hit the market and see if they'll give you the same offer as they did with the Tour.

    So at this point it's either wait or just keep getting the same ole device that has been failing you. Your call.

    I've just got my new Blackberry Storm and I'm super excited to try it out, but for some reason I can't figure out how to transfer over my contacts from my old phone. I had an LG Voyager and I was using the Backup Assistant, but I can't seem to be able to use that on my Storm, also I have tried using the Bluetooth to connect them, but the Storm just plain doesn't receive anything from the Voyager. I also had them try to do it at the VZW store, but for some reason my OLD Voyager just wouldn't cooperate...



    Am I doomed to type in all of my contacts into my new Storm???

    Unfortunately, yes - BlackBerry is not compatible with Backup Assistant, so you are doomed to reenter all of them.

    ou can also cut and paste form backup assitant website into an excel spread sheet and save it file as a .csv. THen inport it into outlook and then sync the phone. No sure of the formatting but it can be done

    This question would be asked of VZW - Folks here would not really know the answer as to why VZW does not support this feature for all devices.

    With this in mind, it MIGHT be do the fact that most advanced devices have the method of sync and or back up. Also the fact that the device you have cannot have data pulled from it is part of the issue.

    The set up of any advanced device coming from a regular style phone is most pain staking, but when done is very satisfying.

    Good luck and you might try another store with the EnV to see if a different machime might be able to get your data.

    One of my phones is an 8330. When I try to access the Verizon BIS web account to change email configuration, I get a message stating that I cannot access this site from a PC but instead need to use my device.

    Why can I not access the Verizon BIS web account from a PC? I'm able to do this with my AT&T Bold VIS account but not with Verizon.
