FIrst try a battery reset. IF this does not resolve it, then you need to call your carrier for support. This could be an account issue or an outage.

I have a BB 8130 Pearl. BIS Plan. I was told via an online sales chat that to add tethering to any smart phone with a data plan would only cost me an additional $15.00 per month. Based on this information I decided to add tethering. When I got my bill, they charged me $30.00 for the tethering. Could a VZW rep explain this? I called CS, and got some BS story about how I was misquoted, and how this $15.00 price only applies to non BB data plans..

This can be explained. THe proce for tethering is based on which data plan you have and must meet the same proce as having a data card or $59.99.

    $29.99 plan = $30 for tethering
    $44.99 Plan = $15 for tethering

so basically there is no difference between the $30 tethering plan and the $15 tethering plan... this is ******** that they can just double the price for some customers... bottom line is that they want everyone paying at least $59.99 ...

Your other option is to go buy a modem and another line of service(59.99). If you are corp acct you get break on tethering and pay more for data on the device for get the BES features. For BIS you get the break on the device data and pay more for tethering.

So either way it is 59.99 and with bb you get browse on the device and computer. with a modem, well just a computer. BB with tethering is a better deal with more options. Modem you get another device to carry as well.

    Lets see the math now.

    Blackberry with thehering:
    A. BES - 59.99 Includes data plan

    B. BIS - 59.99 Includes data Plan

    C. BES with additional modem 44.99+59.99 = 104.98

    D. BIS with additional modem
    29.99+59.99= 89.99

Hmm which is the better deal. Again tethering must equal the price of a modem.

    E. dumb phone - tether $59.99

To tether ANY phone its $59.99/mo. The upside with pda/bberry/smartphone is that your data plan is included in the $59.99 fee

please redirect me if i am in wrong forum. I got a replacement berry from ZW cuz i dropped mine and. I got a replacement the next day, but when i turned on there is this weird blue tine (hue) on the operating system, I tried all the other themes, it is horrid to look at and frustrating. I calle them and VZW sent me out again overnight a new one, agreeing that it should not look different than my original bb, and yet again the same blue hue or tint all through out the berry. Does anyone have any ideas, please be specific. I have tried wiping it and reinstalling the operating system, that has not worked. thanks.

I have the curve and there is suppose to be "TCP" settings under the advanced options (in options) but I'm not seeing it. Can you help? I installed the nobex radio companion from this site but cant get it to work.

On a side note I had a truck load of problems with my 8130 Pearl when I had it and the local verizon store in my area was absolutely no help at all but when I called the 800 number and talked to a guy named Mark (he is the blackberry "whiz" as I was told), I was extremely pleased with the service and felt like he bent over backwards to help me. They sent me the curve to try out and while I still have one issue I think I know why and hopefully the new software update will fix that, anyway dealing with the "Mark's" that you cant see has been better for me than dealing with the local store in my area. That local store almost cost verizon a customer.

New question: I got my first Curves last week. Two days later (last Thursday) the browser wouldn't work. I kept getting the message "A problem occurred while trying to render the page."
I took the phone back, had a new one sent, which I received four days ago (Monday night). On Wednesday the browser stopped working again, same message. Took it back to the store yesterday. Their Techie called Tech Support. The guy on the phone said the problem is with Verizon's BB network.
Is this true, or is it BS? They said to wait 24 to 48 hours.
I had a Treo 700w and had to get it swapped out about 8-9 times over 2 1/2 years.
I thought I was done with that. Now I wonder.
    Any thoughts?

It really depends on how the agreement is written between VZW and your employer. Usually personal account attched to business agrement get and access or features discount. THis does not include devices.
