As Sgt. Schultz (John Banner) used to say, "I know nuh-THINK!".

Although I don't know wht anyone would want twice the headache with two of these things.

I fully realize that it's the truth. The sarcasm is because I will never understand why people continue to get worked up about it when this is the way that Verizon has always worked. You find out the day of and no sooner.

I just renewed my contract on August 2nd with a BlackBerry Flip 8230. Since i'm still within my 30-return policy, how do i go about cashing in on the BOGO offer? TIA

You return the Flip, pay the $35 restocking fee, then select a different model.

Thanks for the quick reply...i knew there was a way, but an online rep told me it was not at all possible:

A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Valerie
Valerie: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Valerie: Are you an existing Verizon Wireless customer?
You: Yes i'm an existing customer...just renewed my contract on August 2nd with a BlackBerry Flip 8230 and just saw that there is now a buy one get one free promotion...how do i go about getting another BlackBerry?
Valerie: You will not be able to get the buy one get one offer unless you actually do another upgrade.
You: really? couldn't i just return my current one and then buy another?
Valerie: No, you are not able to do that.
You: oh is that so? what about the 30 day worry-free guarantee?
Valerie: You still will not be eligible for the buy one because your device was ordered before we had the offer.
You: well i think you're wrong but thanks anyway...bye

I was hoping they would just honor the BOGO without having to go through all that hassle, especially since i just installed my screen protector yesterday

Stupid question but what exactly is the policy on the BOGO? Don't you have to add a line to get the free BB anyway? Or can you buy one and just get the other for a line not ready for an upgrade? Does this sale apply to buying a phone at retail price? I don't want or need a new BB but was just curious as to how it worked.

My brother and his gf have a fam plan. They go in and my bro can do the bogo as long as he puts the other bb on his gf's plan right? then he can take it off and sell it? Thats how i understand it, you have to have another line for the 2nd bb to go on.

Yes, they will honor the Bogo. It is part of the 30 day price protection policy.

On a side note, I just ordered myself and my boyfriend Tours YAY!!! I'll be selling my Pink Curve and all the trimmings if anyone wants them

I'm so P.O'd. I ordered my tour on release date so I miss this by two days. Called EPP and they said no.

  19. Lady.Khrystal's Avatar
Aww I'm sorry Week... you know that EPP is garbage... It's like they take the reps who are about to get fired for being bad at customer service and say, "Here, we'll give you one last chance at having a job. You get to work in employee accounts." I kid, I kid...

Seriously tho, anyone who wants a BB and a Netbook or another BB or regular phone... GO GET THEM NOW!!! GO GO GO!!!

I think my 30 days is today. I went into work after I spoke to EPP and they said if I did form today I should be okay. Will let you all know. It will save me over $200 with taxes.

Now the 3 to 5 day wait

Can anyone point me towards Verizons rules regarding the BoGo?

My wife and I have separate accounts (not a family plan).
She is currently eligible for an upgrade, my 2yr upgrade isn't until 1/5/10.

Would we be able to go to a store, have one Tour activated on her account and the other on mine? Or would they give me a problem since I am not eligible for an "upgrade"?

I'm on the Verizon site now, but can't seem to find the rules and regs...
