Annual upgrade is an option that allows the primary line to get a phone at 2 year discount price, and sign a 2 year contract, every year. NE2 is a discount that people receive for not upgrading their phone for 2 years, and waiting out the term of their contract. They then get a discount 50 - 100 off the upgrade price of the device they chose.

Briefly, annual gives you a chance to upgrade, sign a new 2 yr contract, and get the 2yr contract pricing. So you end up with a nice discount. NE2 gives you an additional discount ($50-$100) if you wait out the full 20 months.

Anyone feel free to jump in if I've misstated.

    EDIT: Beaten by drm again!

Annual Upgrade is for primary lines (other qualifications must be met as well) after 12 months, NE2 is after 20 months with an additional credit.

Just an FYI the NE2 discount is not $50-$100 anymore. It's $30-$50 respectively.

For people that have not used it, they have not lost it, their rate is not changed until they use it at the old scale.

Annual upgrades are the standard 2 year pricing of the handset on mobile numbers with a calling plan of $49.99 or higher. An early upgrade fee of $20 may apply if you are not listed as a VIP customer in VZW's system. however, if you are a VIP customer, a $50 additional credit can be appliaed to an early upgrade.
NE2 has changed a little bit in the past few months. To match with the lowering costs of the handsets, the NE2 amounts are getting lower too. If you are on Nationwide pricing, NE2 credits are either $30 or $50, depending on your monthly cost.

    Boom!

FYI in order to be eligible for the annual upgrade you have to have a plan that is a minimum of $60 I think. May be wrong. There is a minimum plan you have to have in order to be eligible.

Now hey we want to make sure its clear... yes MOST people are still getting the $50-$100 but they dropped the NE2 credits a bit a go so after you get ThIS NE2 your next one in like 2011 will be $30-$50
Just so we're clear. Example would be my NE2 credit is $50 in april... but in 2012 it will be $30
    sucks I know.
And secondary lines dont get NE2 credits. Just the primary... just so thats clear as mud too.

Shouldnt this kill like 4 threads ??
