Am I figuring this out correctly? This has to do with the BB Storm

    Retail $499.99

    A) Storm 1 Year contract price
    $319.99 - $50 MIR=$269.99
Additional line on a family plan is $9.99 a month $9.99*12=$119.88
    $269.99+119.88=$389.87

    B) 2 Year price
    $249.99 - $50 MIR=$199.99
Additional line on a family plan is $9.99 a month $9.99*24=$239.76
    $199.99+$239.76=$439.75

Now If I wanted to do an ETF it would be

    C) Pay $199.99+9.99+175 ETF=$384.98

    D) Pay 269.99+9.99+175 ETF=$454.98

Where Would I add taxes? Is their an activation fee? So it seems in the long run it would be a better idea to choose option "A" since it would only be $5 more over option C.

I never said I was going to go with option C. I was just posting figures, Since Ive read posts about people doing that.

All I wanted to know, where would I add taxes, and if their is an activation fee.

Now for an attitude, Their is no reason for a person to come in the thread and single out a person and call them a **** for assuming they are going to do something. Get facts straight, don't assume.

I do know how many people do that, and just because a lot of people do something doesn't make it right.

FYI - I said you would be a j-e-r-k there would be taxes and you would have an activation fee

there is a $35 activation fee unless you do it online or over the phone with a CSR, then it's free.

You would add sales tax to the phone when purchased.......other taxes and fees are added to your monthly bill. On my bill taxes and fees are around $15 or so. It may vary by state though.

    Hope that helps a little.

I think this is a great question and good job on the numbers. Im assuming you are on a family plan already, is that correct?

    A couple of things:
    1. ETF goes down $5 each month of your contract.
    2. Options C & D, why are you adding $9.99?

You are in no way wrong for asking this question, nor wrong for cancelling early. I am pretty sure Verizon still manages to come out the same either option you pick, otherwise they wouldn't offer it as an option. It wouldn't make good business sense.

Looks like you live in NJ, so there would be taxes on everything. (well at least it feels that way) NJ= the garden state, we keep watching our taxes grow...........

Thank you. Yes I am on a family plan, My phone is the main line, and I have 2 other lines. I added the $9.99 Because you would cancel the line after 31 days, so you would have paid a full month of service, Correct?

Yea I know, it sucks, 7% for sales tax. And they want to raise my property taxes AGAIN! They just did that 2 years ago!

Verizon requires you to have a data plan - $29.99/mo for BIS and $44.99/mo for BES.

There isn't always an activation fee. VZW.com offers free activation on a pretty regular basis. It's usually a promo that only lasts a few days to a week. I've never heard of telesales not charging an activation fee though.
