Yep the DM should match the version
No it doesn't have to match to be able to upgrade or use. Where do you get some of this info?

You need both the 4.5 OS update and desktop 4.5 min
No you don't. You can install OS4.5 with DM4.2 if you wish.

With all due respect, it would not upgrade with DM 4.6, only with DM 4.5. Im not sure why. Which stinks, cause I really liked it.

    Ok, got it connected again.

But no update? I have the 4.5.77 installed, the 4.5 DM - installed. What is next to update the device software?

Weird, I installed OS 4.5 with DM 4.6, twice, once with the unofficial release, and then again with the Verizon release. Waste of time, no difference.

Do you already have the "other" version of 4.5.77 on your Blackberry? Or the 4.3.0.127 or whatever?

    Simple version:

Download the OS to your PC and install it on your PC.
Run Desktop Manager and click on application loader.
    Sit back and relax.

If you're downloading Verizon's version and installing it on a Verizon phone you do not have to do step 6.

    Good Luck!

All that done - and I click on Application Loader and I get two options- 1 Update Applications, 2 - Add or Remove Applications. That's it - nothing happens

Pick "Add or Remove Applications." That should start to see the new OS. Just follow the directions on the screen. Make sure "Docs to Go" is checked so it will load on your Berry.

If you're not using Verizon's version then you have to delete the vendor.xml file for it to work.
