I did a successful restore and it shows 2/5 tries, is it supposed to show 255 tries?

Unfortunately, the OS update that came out a while ago seems to have killed this method.

It ran great until I did an update to the software .

I tore the COD files of the OS out of the install package (re: customizing your OS) and have tried decompiling a few COD files. But there are so bloody many and not a lot of references to go off of. Gonna keep messing with it though.

If I lose my phone I want it to be useless to the thief forever, not just for 10 password retries. BB says they can't be password hacked - so why not make it limitless :P

I'm going to try like mad to get a-hold of a developer in BB. Its a long shot but I'm willing to pay a fair deal to get the feature added, we'll see.

    Strike 1,

Their support (I tried twice) keep re-directing me to my carrier. I don't think their support representatives understand that my carrier doesn't develop the software... but okay

That's their way of saying F-off. Big businesses don't really care about individual consumers.

Hey, sorry to post into such an old thread but I had a quick question for you. Do you think one would be able to change their password using this method? Or do you think the actual password is probably to encrypted to be edited so easily. On OS 5.0 the owner information isn't while locked unless you have a password set. I want the owner information, and the ability to lock, but I don't want to have to type in a password. The password option menu doesn't let you use a blank password. I'm going to try to use the hex editor to go in and blank the password so when I lock the device hopefully I'll just be able to press the enter button to unlock rather than typing in a password.
