So, the question is in the title. There's the .74, the .75, the .83, annow the leaked .85.

I've been reading through the threads off and on (...between all the interceptions and fumbles of the Cowboys/Eagles game.... damn Cowboys...) and there are just SO MANY THREADS of ppl trying to get this right! I can't stay up all night, so I figured I'd post a thread asking the question rather than sifting through the THOUSANDS of replies in other threads.

I know some of you probably went through trial and error to get which ever OS you're now using to work... but we ALL know the "How To" threads posted by the BB gods like plTaylor work. Eventually. lol!

Which one did you finally settle with and what are the pros/cons?

I stop watching the Cowboys before halftime couldn't take it anymore. I have had all the upgrades and .85 is by far the best.

Just moved to 85 from 76 and all is well. Seems to be the best build yet.

I've installed them all as they have come out, and I seen improvement each step of the way. I have yet to understand how some people are having various issues with each individual update. *Shruggs*

Most likely the larger part of them are ppl using the unlocked storms with a GSM carrier like T-mobile... as I am.

man its crazy how all over the place this update is. most people love it, but its so weird how many people have massive issues, increase in issues, reboots, freeze ups ,etc

now i would assume these people had a defective device, except many say the issues go away when they go back to .75 or .76!

    so weird.

Yeah, it is kinda weird.... especially with Verizon users.

I use mine with T-mobile, and it works well with the .75 OS, but the camera is a little slow responsive, but I may give the .83 a try first anyway just to see.

My apologies to the MODS, btw.... I just realized I posted this thread in the wrong forum section. My bad and I'll be more aware next time.

    I would say either .85 or .83

.85 is the fastest I have had, but more memory leaks than .83

Awesome.... everyone so far prefers the .85!! And you all have something in common, too...

Verizon users! It may not, and shouldn't, make a difference but is anyone out there using the .85 with T-mobile or AT&T and liking it?

I've had them all except .76.... .83 was the worst for me. Phone freezing and things not working well at all. .85 is running now and I've been happy with it. No issues I can tell.

Cool.... guess I'll go ahead and give it a try. As I said, I'm not using it with VZW so I'll have to follow pltaylors "How To" thread again...( but place the daemon mod in the desktop instead of another folder as he suggests )

I've got .75 OS on a flash card if I need to go back to it. Thanks for the replies everyone!

    .75

.85 had major battery draining issues.

.75 was probably most stable, but the molasses like speed was killing me.

.85 is close to .75 in stability (as what I read on the forums, but mine still has yet to freeze/lock up). However, .85 is the FASTEST of all.

As far as memory leaks, my mem leaked as much with .75 as it does with .85... which is very little (probably more with .75 actually)

When you guys talk about "memory leaks"... what exactly do you mean?... like losing contacts or pics or something?

.75 official to .85 without wiping. Thought I was in heaven with .75, now I really am. No lock ups, resets, missing keys, etc... and everything is faster! Haven't tried the video recorder yet, still a little skiddish since it hung me up in .75. everything else is just...........well............peachy!

.85 has been the best for me so far *knock on wood*. It is just as fast as .83 but has the stability of .75 and .76. Memory has been fine so far. Memory is holding steady around 35 MB after a day of steady use. A battery pull jumps it up around 45 MB. Battery life is great- after a day of steady use with phone, text, browsing, and installing and using apps, I'm sitting 45%, and this includes bluetooth and GPS on.

No it's when your system's available memory alloted to run programs (like RAM) dwindles down with time and you don't do anything to warrant any additional use of that available memory.

So, it's "leaking" your available memory away, thus slowing down the processing of your BB.
