Just got off the phone with Sprint Customer after a 21 minute call. The rep, who stated she is also a Blackberry user, seemed to do some checking and finally stated that the 10.3 update should be released by Sprint either by the last week of September or first week of October. I didn't know if anyone else had confirmation of this. At least this seems to be a little more info then their standard line of "check the Sprint site for new information".

Lol maybe it's their only hope to have the slider on their network.

    Conversation probably went like this:

""Sprint: we hear you are releasing an android slider, we wanna have one for our network.

BlackBerry: really? U guys gave up on BlackBerry years ago, only released one BB10 phone and haven't released any updates in a year and a half? Why should we trust dealing with you again?

Sprint: hey look, it's all about the money, we're not doing too great here, and having BB10 phones made custom for us was too much of a risk. They never sold that great for us.

BlackBerry: so u come back to us only when you know we're gonna be making a killer product (slider) huh? No chance sprint.

Sprint: pleeeease? We need the money and user base, and if all the other carriers have the slider and not us, we're doomed.

BlackBerry: be doomed. You gave us the death wishes early on... u don't even sell the Q10 in stores, and haven't in almost 2 years! don't come back to us when u need us...

Sprint : come on BlackBerry! anything we can do to change your mind : on one knee: :tears:

BlackBerry : maybe show some love to your BlackBerry sprint fans.

Sprint: but it's too late to release any BB10 phones, they're isn't anything new and trendy, and besides, u guys seem to be calling it quits to BB10 as well. Anything else we can do.

BlackBerry: so at least release the latest 10.3.2 update. U guys haven't released anything since 10.2.1!!

Sprint: ok that seems fair, deal?

BlackBerry : deal. But u better release it soon. No waiting around.

Sprint : ok thanx BlackBerry! ""

    Something like that

You should have said Sprint on both knees and puckered lips with tears in there eyes.
Besides the FrankenBerry will make them happy. It will keep with there IOS and Android lineup.

I've been dogging Sprint & BlackBerry since early May for the BBOS 10.32.2 release. I have been told this verbally, before, but today the BlackBerry Support Supervisor, Allan Deunas, put in writing that Sprint will never release another BBOS 10 upgrade.

Believe this, or not, as you choose. personally, I will never believe another word from BlackBerry nor Sprint, but Sprint abandoning its BlackBerry customers at least has the ring of truth to it.

This is only the latest string of emails in reverse order, the last (first, below) two from this morning:

    -------------------------------------------------------
So, Allan, your only recommendation is that I do without this very crucial & helpful update, since BlackBerry refuses to provide it to me.

You can see why I find you perfectly ineffective in helping me.
    -------------------------------------------------------
    Hello Mr. Joseph,

    Good Day

We cannot accommodate your request for a callback coming from John Chen. We have received a confirmation from us internally that Sprint will no longer release the 10.3.2 update to their consumer. We cannot push the update directly to your device since it was not purchased from our end.

We understand that you feel frustrated with the concern, our roll out for software releases are coordinated with all affiliated carriers and partners. As we said before it is the carrier discretion to distribute the software, BlackBerry has announced our global roll out for software releases.

We are hoping for your kind consideration.

    Thanks,

    Allan D.
    BlackBerry Technical Support Supervisor

I am sorry, Allan, but both BlackBerry & ‎Sprint owe me better service than "wait (months or years) ".,

    Have John Chen call me.
    ----------------------------------------------------
    Hello Mr. Joseph,

The leaked version of 10.3.2 is not recommended by BlackBerry. This might cause issue or issues on uour phone since its not the same update coming from the carrier. As we have told you before that there are series of test prior distributing the software release to consumer. System might found your device different compared to the current software on their server.

As we mentioned that only the carrier has the desgression if they will roll out the update to the consumer. We understand your frustration however it is beyond our control. Updated software was release and all you need to do is to wait for notification on the device.

Hoping for your consideration on this concern.

    Allan D.
    BlackBerry Technical Support Supervisor

    Allan:

    This doesn't help at all.,

I've already ‎upgraded to BBOS 10.3.2.2474, via leaked files & instructions posted on crackberry.

The responses & delays received ‎from BlackBerry & Sprint have been unnecessary & infuriating.

    Have John Chen call me.

    Hello Mr. Joseph.

Hope my email finds you well,

We would like to inform you that BlackBerry has realeased the 10.3.2 update globally.Carrier will push the update since its now available. Carrier has now the respnsibility to check the software on their database and do the roll.

Discretion will come from the carrier for it to be available on consumer devices.

    Hope this one helps.

    Thanks,

    Allan D.

Well, if true, that about says it. I guess we will either love it or leave it. (I mean both Blackberry and Sprint). In the end this stupidity is a failure of both Blackberry and Sprint in my opinion. On a lighter note, put in perspective and remember, there are no handcuffs. A person has alternatives or just leave anytime we like!

Since I was told the blackberry 10.3.2 would be rolled out by October 3 from Sprint, I have continued to call Sprint for further confirmation. Their outsourced customer service is horrible. Telephone calls to Sprint end with answers that make no sense. I went to my local Sprint store and the manager laughed when I said I was Blackberry user. I was told the update will never happen and Sprint no longer does business with Blackberry.

Goodbye Sprint! I am moving on to a new carrier

I just got off the phone with Sprint with regard to upgrading my daughter's iPhone. I didn't ask about the 10.3.2 update, but I did ask about the Venice/Priv. She mentioned that an internal document given to them (support) yesterday confirmed that it will be available on Sprint in November.

Also, I find it strange that the BlackBerry manager of tech support makes the same gramatical mistakes that the OP makes. Just sayin'

Not quite. As you probably know BBerry is working with Google to make their system more secure. In theiry, at least, the Slider/Priv will be more secure than your average Android device. From a user's pov, as longa s it has the Hub, their fantastic keyboard and their security suite (?), I'm in.

Is there any belief or confirmation that Sprint will have an os update to 10.3?

I am looking for as straight up of an answer as is possible. I am about to leave the BB for iPhone although giving up the key board is very tough. A 10.3 update would help me hang on.

I have tried contacting Sprint with no luck. I get the standard BS line of watch in the announcement section of the website. The outsourced customer service people are clueless or simply come up with some very vague half truth or lie. Sprint won't confirm anything because they can't afford to lose customers.

My thinking is that they may try and get BlackBerry 10 users to try and convert to Priv and forego 10.3 all together. John Chen should not do business with Sprint as they fail to support their BlackBerry users.
