I have not been on for awhile and I decided to get back on to see what was new in the forums and as I'm looking through the trending section I am noticing a large amount of discussions have been removed by the Admin. What is up with that and what have I missed?

You're referring to posts deleted from within threads? Sometimes those comments are from spammers trying to establish a "legitimate" presence before doing their thing. Sometimes it's a case where members have engaged in bickering, delivering insults, or trolling. When moderators see this behaviour, those posts, and where there been quoted, are deleted.

Not those those no. I mean the ones in this picture. There was a lot more of them this morning and now that I look closer it seems to be from the same 3 or 4 accounts. I assume just spammers and mods removed them and no big deal. I was just scrolling down this morning and it seemed like 75% of the posts were removed. I just found it odd since I've not been on in awhile.Discussion's removed?-screenshot_2017-08-20-11-12-47.png

Yes, those are spammers. They tend to machine gun many posts at once. We deal with them and delete the threads.

Why would they waste yours and there time with something that accomplished nothing. Unbelievable really.

There's always a few gullible people who may click through before we detect a spam post. When you consider how many sites they hit, it may be worth it for them.

Yup that spamming was bad last night, a lot of it looked like Chinese writing. My tapatalk app was going nuts even after blocking the ones posting it.

I've noticed it other months but never noticed anyone saying anything about it

Forums are full of those spams when I wake up early in the morn (4am eastern time). By 8am, they are usually gone (deleted). What gives me pause is the fact that they can do that at all.

So even if we have them on our ignore block list why are we still seeing the notifications?

Are you subscribed for new thread notifications or something? If so, maybe that's why.

All it takes is a few, think about the real numbers. Reminds me of the Nigerian lotto. Just a few responses.

No sense in adding them to your ignore list, just report them please. As you see, we remove them as quickly as possible, and of course they are banned. Over the last few days there have probably been over a thousand posts/threads deleted.

That would be the case on the browser too. Just don't click the links in the post. It's ok though. That spam we easily catch.
