Huh, I believe it is St. Patty's day, as the full name of the holiday is St. Patrick's day, not St. Padrick's day.
It is St. Peppermint patty's day.
It's St Paddy.
Back in the old sod, Patrick changes to Paddy. Therefore St Patrick becomes St Paddy.

Moved to site questions. I believe it can actually go either way, but that St. Paddy's IS the more common usage. Certainly not a big deal and I would not expect it to be changed at this point.
Oh no!!! I wouldn't expect it either!;)
So when you talk to Patrick and shorten his name do you call him Pat, Pad, Patty or Paddy?
LOL I thought it was Patty but guess depends on where you grew up. Or it was like people saying they axed for something when asked for something.
