Is it just me, or does everyone receive TWO emails if using the subscription option for threads? I'm subscribed to various threads, and when people post, I always get two emails...

I wonder if it's sending 1 to my 'registered' email address, and 1 to my crackberry email address?

Anyone care to comment? Thanks inadvance

Are you using your crackberry.com as your notification address? I just use my gmail account and I only get one notification.

Is there a 'specific' location to enter an address for notifications? I presumed that it was sending the notification to the 'email' address that one registered with?

Now, I do have my crackberry email being forwarded to the same email address I registered with. That's why am wondering if that's what's causing the 'dupe' email issue...

This is where you can go to enter your email, which should show the same one you registered with.

I registered with my gmail address, and also have my crackberry address forwarding to it, but I'm not getting the double notifications.

This is so strange, now, on this particular thread am not getting emails. For example, kasperapd replied at 09:38, but I received no email, yet my subscription is set to 'instant'...

Nonetheless, I will review it on other threads to see what gives...

ps: I just want my BlackBerry to vibrate 24/7 - LMAO!

Well, I sent a PM to a Mod last night, (Kevin) and he is looking into it. At present am not receiving ANY email notifications...

So, if any Mod could update us all, that would be great...

Thanks audit01, it worked. You posted, and I received an email, same with the PM reply.

Now to figure out why it stopped working on my Bellsouth account. Works fine on my personal domain (navilyn.com) account...

    Very strange...

I subscribed to this thread and have been getting notifications with no problems. I'm guessing it may just be the email account you were having them sent to. Did you check your junk/spam folder?
    03-05-07 06:23 PM
  24. anon(153966)'s Avatar
I did check the spam folder, nothing was in it. Funny thing is, in my options for crackberry.com, there was NO email address in there when I went in!

Anyway, it was working, at around 15:45, now it's stopped working again. But, you know what, am not going to bother with it. Not worth the hassle...

    Hey Navilyn,

Our tech guy comes back tomorrow (he's been gone the past 5 days). I'm not sure what the scoop is on this, but will have him look into it. I'm thinking something must have got buggered up with your initial registration process. The way we have this site built, we have two content management systems integrated into each other - vbulletin for the forums, and then another for the main site. When you register with CrackBerry.com, you only register once...and then the system is supposed to be smart enough to automatically register you for the second. Likewise, when you visit the site and login/logout, the site is supposed to be smart enough to do both at once.

I think we still have a few bugs to workout...it's working properly 98% of the time, but that 2% of the time I'm not sure what's up. Have some patience with is us - we're going to get it sorted out. It's probably just one or two lines of code out of 100,000 causing the issues.

I'll have Tom check your actual user account tomorrow - maybe it's something that's actually a fairly easy fix.

We'll get to the bottom of it! I appreciate the patience!
