We all know that bb10 cannot run video on the background/active frame without using ported apps.
Well my friend I have discovered a cool trick to overcome this limitations using native web browser.

Type "file:///sdcard" on your browser. Locate your video folder and from there you can play video file and run it on the background.

I haven't checked all the video format though. But it works.

    Hope you like it.

This was discovered a while back. Probably not easily searched due to some obscure thread name like this.

Perhaps the Moderators can change thread name to

Could someone spell this out for me? When I type 'file:///sdcard' in the browser, it will try to search Google for that string.

Do I need to type the full path to the video or something?

Ok, it seems to work now (no idea what I was doing before), but the video portion itself doesn't play when the browser window is minimized to an active frame, only the audio will continue to play.

The format is mp4 and the videos were taken by the passport itself.

That is correct, the point of this is to listen to a TED talk video which you don't have to watch, a guy sitting on the stage, or in my particular case, i have music videos saved that i would like to listen to while doing something else.

    GREAT FIND @nelsonningombam

this is interesting, however, I can't seem to find the path to my pictures. The pictures link only shows some that i have saved, but not the ones that I have taken with the BB camera. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the right path?

You can even open a new page and browse while the video is playing in the background.
