I have an mkv movie file that mxplayer pro can play on my dlink nas. When I copy this file to the external 32 gb sdcard, it cannot play it. Is this 10.2.1.1925 related? I cannot explain why through samba it works but not locally. Any ideas?

It's on BBW, can play all files both from local & sd card.

Nutty player cannot play mkv files with aac encoded audio. This is the reason why I use mxplayer pro which can play this type of file from a network source. Tried copying the same file to the local flash memory and same error when playing. On PB with Kalemsoft Video Player, it plays the same file OK. However, KS is not available for the Zed30 in BBW.

If the file is bigger than 4gb, then it can't be on your SD card since it's FAT

The MKV files is 3 GB. And no, it does not do this for all mkv files. My guess is that only MKV files with audio that is AAC encoded. I'll check smaller files if it's the same. It's weird though that it can play it when streaming from NAS which uses an EXT4 filesystem shared through SAMBA.

I guess the latest android player has some problems in reading or saving file from and to media card. I have problems with uTorrent unable to save file to media card also.

OP, is this an MKV that you created yourself or was it downloaded from another source. Just wondering if we can duplicate it on another device. I don't even play MKVs on my Z10 as the encapsulated video stream has way too much data to merit processing on the small screen. Not that I can't play them mind you.

Odd, I just tried a 4.5 GB MKV i encoded from the SD and it played just fine. Wish I had more information for you, but I am out of ideas at this time.

I haven't tried playing from my SD card but normally stream them and play them using VLC Player beta and it works beautiful. Those are file that are 4, 5 and even 10 GB. I'll check it out later and report if I remember. Lol.

Is your audio encoded as DTS or AAC?

So it's AC3 and not AAC. I'm now suspecting my SD CARD so i'll try a different card.

If I stream it from nas using mx player pro, it works flawlessly. It's only when I play it from sdcard then it fails.

Looks like video is mpeg in your case. The file i'm using is encoded in x.264. So not sure if that's the issue.

So I think it's not related to the media renderer nor the file format. I turned on sharing for video and enabled it for my device. I went to my Boxee box and opened my problem MKV file through upnp and played it without any issues. I'm stoked. I'm looking now for a good upnp player that can detect a local share on the z30 as a workaround.

it's the AC3 audio that's the problem. If you go to "edit" you can play the movie, but with no sound. I have the same problem, but haven't been able to find a workaround. The Android players I've tried can't see the files on my sd card. Anyone know a fix?
