I just had an idea that I sent to ideamailbox.

There are cases made that incorporate a slide-out Bluetooth keyboard, making that phone into what is essentially a slider. The problem with these accessories is that you end up having to charge two devices.

Now make a Z30-sized phone with the same removable back with built-in battery, but bring back charging contacts. Make an official accessory Bluetooth keyboard case that could use the back door clips to attach to the rear of the phone and draw power from the same charging contacts, eliminating the hassle of charging two devices.

The stock phone could have exposed charging contacts for use with a dock. Anyone who wants a slider format can buy a keyboard case, which would be powered through the phone battery. The tradeoff would be a thicker device, probably close to an Otterbox Defender or Armor case, and the loss of charging contacts.

This would take away the cost of having yet another smartphone form factor, yet appease those who desire the slider format. It would also bring in revenue from accessory sales like charging docks and the possibility of other powered accessories, like POS card readers or proprietary enterprise security solutions.
