I've been using the Z30 for 3 days now,

I have noticed that when I make or receive a phone call the sound is very low even on max vol,
Sometimes when I'm outside in a crowded place it's almost impossible to hear what the other party is saying!

Does anyone else owns a Z30 have this issue?
Or should I return it to the store?

The loud speaker is great though

Return it if you think it's a defect

Some have changed OS-es and find the problem still there. Wondering if there's a huge manufacturing defect on the 30s.

Does increasing the master volume help?

Thanks, but I had specifically meant the volume of the regular handset speaker (Not speakphone) when at max volume.

So I went back to the shop and the sales guy was actually just unboxing his own brand new Z30 so he tested the sound and he had the same issue!
So he called someone in BlackBerry service and they told him it's a new high definition sound feature which is not activated yet by my carrier (Etisalat) !!!
And it suppose to get better!
I know it sounds like BS and I hope that an update could fix that.

This is probably due to the software. B1767 should fix it.

Just curious, how low is low? Can anyone compare it with another non-Z30 device or in my case an HTC One?

It's an OS issue. The same thing happened to the Z10 until 10.1 came out. I used a higher pitch ring tone for the mean time.

I don't think you should return it to the store. All you have to do is go to the phone app and slide down from the top and access call settings and adjust the volume.

It's almost like a hidden feature
