I'm sure this has been referenced somewhere but I cant find it. So will factory reset wipe all data or I need to take additional steps?

Remove Google account first, and then reset.

I'm about to sell my old Key1 used rarely and with 50 photos and I'm writing on this old post.
    I did these steps:
-1 I deleted my photos and then from the bin.
    -2 factory reset
    -3 I installed some games
    -4 Another factory reset
-5 Filled almost the space with 1080p recordings and 4K recordings
    -6 factory reset
    -7 two more factory reset

Probably was enough step 1, LOL.

Every >Android 6.0 is encryption key... so... can I rest assured?

thank you and I hope in a mini explanation

    Do a full backup
    Remove SIM
Remove Factory Reset Protection from phone
Factory Rest is good enough when the phone was encrypted, as the data is just random bits without the key.

I have seen some suggest loading dummy data... if it makes you feel better go for it.

BlackBerry opted to continue using full-disk encryption.

Some felt that was still superior in Android 7 and 8.

Their version of full-disk encryption is complient with FIPS 140-2, and also protects your user files (pictures) and notifications.

so after a factory reset the key is thrown away through FDE and then there is TRIM with the use of the telephone

can I sell it easily? I just want a confirmation, thanks

Yes. You are perfectly good to go after a factory reset.
