    I have a question..

Can we just make an alternative or a replacement application client.

    Just as an example..

Since SKYPE is not supported on BB10, can we try to make an application for BB10 ourselves...

I see at least two huge problems:
    1. Some of the services are proprietary (e.g. Skype, Viber, etc.), so they either don't have any open API at all or it's very limited
    2. Hundreds or thousands developers work on each popular app in-house full-time and they are paid $100k+ per annum. Looking at this forum I don't think that we could find more than 10 active developers for everything who are just volunteers. Don't expect too much...

Pretty much, need experience to dive into that. Money helps too.

Yes. Starting around 2010, and through about 2014, companies (who formerly did so) stopped offering public APIs for their platforms, as the security risks were too high and because by then the platform wars were over and they all understood that supporting iOS and Android was all that was necessary, whereas before, they might have supported 3, 4, or even 5 platforms. That effectively ended the ability to develop 3rd-party apps for most popular online services. And even though there were a handful of exceptions for a long time, either security issues or the desire to add functionality to those services is slowly cutting off many of those remaining exceptions.

If apps are important to you, you really need to use a supported platform - and that becomes more true all the time as older apps stop supporting older versions of Android.

    True

If apps are important , write an app for a supported OS ie iOS and Android

Difference in supported and still works...

There are a few developers here that have found ways to make some solutions work for YouTube and Twitter... but how long those APIs and Services will work for those developers.... ? No way to really know.

And I suspect both have invested more time and energy into these "projects" than expected.
