After update, I am getting notification "Carrier Services won't work unless you enable Google Play Services.".
It is pretty annoying, after I smash it, it appears again! Yes, I can disable this notification, but why I am getting it now, after 4 months without GPS? What is this Carrier Services doing? LTE internet works, SMS works, calls works. Wut?

Had the same issue with Google Pay. It gave the same type of notification. I guess Google just hopes to nag it's users into enabling their data mining toolkit. Someone here (Conite?) told me I can swipe it partially, pick the gear, and block the notification. It's been fine since. Be careful, in the fine print, I think it blocks all notifications from that app (in your case carrier services app).

I have the same thinking.. So, better not to update because every update, the google might comes with something new..
I already blocked it but I am still thinking, what did stop working after update without GPS.
This would be so good phone if it wasn't this stupid OS. At least, root/unlocked bootloader to flash different android ROM would be better. I do not feel safer with bbdroid when my hands are tied on my back .

So, you have no problems or not working features, right?

Carrier Services app allow for advanced features in the Android Messages app (like RCS).

Actually, I didn't disable the whole app, I'm not allowed. Instead, I turned off all the permissions to it. The most important one to me was Microphone. I stopped getting targeted ads for things I spoke after that. I think Google's motto is "do more good than evil, to mask the evil" so maybe not all the permissions are bad either.

It's fine to disable Carrier Services for most... only use for it is TCS communications which might not even be enabled on your carrier yet. Might not be needed... depending on how your carrier implements it - some have their own RCS solutions.

I do not even know what TCS is (and wikipedia is not very good telling me either ).
But RCS is not supported with my carrier, I think only one of four carriers in my country has RCS support. And I do not really care for it.
    THANKS!
