    I recently switched from iPhone to the Classic. I am having trouble receiving text messages intermittently. I was able to send and receive, but now out of the blue I cant seem to receive texts (from people on iPhones) but I can send them. I have SMS enabled on both sides of the texts. Any ideas what this could be?

    I believe there’s some additional steps anytime you switch from any iPhone to a non iPhone so that you can properly communicate with iPhones. Check Android Central and iMore for more details.

    That doesn't work because in order to deregister my iMessage account I need to send myself a code via text and since I cant receive text messages I cant read it

    Might want to call Apple then. I've used this process several times, always works for me within minutes of deregistering the phone number with Apple.

    The process is set up specifically if you no longer have iPhone. Once you’ve done this, contact Apple. But, it sounds like you’re saying you’re not getting text messages period?

    Correct, I can not receive text messages so its impossible for me to complete this

    If Apple cannot fix on their end, then it sounds carrier related. I would contact your carrier.

    I also have missed 8 texts (with pics) from an iPhone user.

    They are from the only person I know with an iPhone, but I'm curious as to why this is happening.

    BTW this is confirmed thru a group text between the mentioned iPhone, a GS7 and the Q20. The Samsung got all 8 pics my BlackBerry didn't.
