New DTEK50 at Staples Canada starting on May 30.

Good price if you are looking for a BB slab.

Low bux as a spare or to get a feel for BB Android without
breaking the bank. Just check the preview flyer dated May 30.

$200 Canadian is a good price for a new unlocked DTEK50. Never seen such a low price even in previous sales.

I think I will pick this bargain up. I would like the Motion to replace my Z30 but it's still to pricey for me. This will give me a chance to see if the android berry is going to be for me going forward. I would have to pay that for a used iPhone 6s with no warranty

I’d apply that amount to a Motion. Shop around. I’ve seen people report some decent Motion sale prices. I own both DTEK models and I won’t pay the money to fix either of their cracked screens.

I second that. If you are in Canada, you can pick up a Motion for $360 through Koodo carrier, and $285 if you are an existing customer with them.

    Humm 360 vs 199. I'll take the DTec50.

Do whatever you like. DTEK life expectancy is another year from support perspective. It’s seller left hardware over year ago. It’s getting no OS updates and security update support is almost over. It’s cost per year is higher than Motion based on remaining time of support left. That’s why I suggested applying cash amount towards Motion purchase.

Also, both of my DTEK weren’t built of quality to last more than 24 months with gentle use. I dual carry and keep my devices in cases. Neither device lasted beyond 12 months since the screens cracked. I’ve never had that happen in over 15 years of purchasing BlackBerry phones. The PRIV was basically a software experiment and the DTEK were a hardware experiment.

The KEYone and Motion were improved devices from those experiences.

$200 for a DTEK50 is a good deal. However, if you're looking for a gateway device to introduce you to the world of DroidBerry, I'm not so sure the DTEK50 is gonna convince anyone to move to a Motion.

Marshmallow is not as good as Nougat, the biggest difference being split screen and how robust notifications are in Android N. Also, the DTEK50 is a BB branded Idol 4 and has absolutely ZERO BB DNA in its hardware. You will not feel like you are using a BB, even with the Hub in the software.

That said, if you're looking to get a taste of the DroidBerry life and recognize that the DTEK50 experience will be a generation behind the current BB Android offering than $200 isn't a bad price to pay to satiate your curiosity.

Personally, I would double down the investment and just get a Motion to get a much better experience, but I respect people's decision to place whatever value they see fit on their wireless purchases.

Not worth it. It's already obsolete and it was underpowered from the start.

    Get a Xiaomi MI A1.

Those prices based on some sort of minimum monthly plan?

$45 minimum on data and call plan, which is pretty standard anyways.

Give a solid month using BBAndroid to get past reflexive BB10 habits. Lock the Z30 in a drawer (LOL but serious). I copied my app layout from unlock screen as best as I could to help switch from BB10 to BBAndroid. Let us know how things are. Come here to vent too..

You have no idea how jealous I am. Really want to get a Motion but no AT&T (or different carrier devices for that matter) here in USA. For now, carrier versions of BBMo/TCL devices for me, until they've got an established track record.

Damn, I could have referred you and given you $50 in bill credits

Still, $360 is a very nice deal for the Motion.

You don't get the free suite of BB apps with a Moto

BlackBerry since 2006. Passport and KEYone

Yes I guess that is a $36 value. I do not see the Alcatel 4s with included BlackBerry Apps as a reasonable choice at this point in time.
