    Ok love my 9900. It has always worked fine but a couple of days ago it froze a couple of times but restarted dine with a battery pull. Then a day or two later, it would restart without warning and only get 3/4 of the way through and stick, but after a couple of battery pulls would restart properly. The finally, it switched off and needed a battery pull, the red light came on and went off again and now it is completely dead. There are no signs of life, even with a new battery inserted or connected to PC.

    Try a different computer, or a virtual machine (allow ALL instances of usb device found/connected), and reload the software that way. It's how I recovered my BlackBerry bold 9900.
