It has been some time since our beloved WhatsApp decided to stop supporting the BB10 and all of us downloaded the Android version, we ran the tool from Memory and now we have WhatsApp.
But how does this work for you?
For me, it is like it destroyed my Passport... since I installed it, it crashes the Web browser, it blocks the phone calls etc... not always, but from time to time...
I wonder if you suffer from similar issues or not?

    Thanks!

That's why it's called a workaround. It was never meant to be a permanent solution.
If WhatsApp is essential for you, use a supported device.

It's not possible for an Android app to affect your native browser or phone dialer.

    Indeed, this is the case..
Yet, I feel that the Passport (and the BB10) is more essential to me, but some Android apps make things a bit more difficult.

    Thanks for the advise Conite!
It is strange to me as well, but here is what I am facing:
Even WhatsApp (android) is minimized and I am browsing using the native browser, at some point the browser hangs...
I cannot click anything etc, only minimize it...
Then after a few seconds, it crashes..
    same, for the phone dialer..
Checking the BBVE couldn't spot any problem..

You may simply be running out of device memory. Reboot.

Ah indeed, in another application it says that I have only 50MB left!!
    Rebooting saved me!!!
Strange but in the BBVE it was saying 300MB free ram..
I will keep an eye on it..

    Thanks!!

Regarding the block phone calls. That was the symptom that I got before the signal is completely gone. Emergency call only or sos on your mobile network. It's better to os reload before it got worst. The android apps should have nothing to do with it directly, but the over heat might be the culprit.

Re-run Whatsfixer, make sure you have an SD card in the phone at all times, and make sure on the SD card there is a folder named "Android" , and in that there should be "WhatsApp, and in that, "Media" and finally "WhatsApp Images" and "WhatsApp Videos"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

    Download WhatsApp from Android.

Install app, tap OUTSIDE the box IF warned about Google Play Services.

    Run patch from BlackBerry World:

    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/60005088

You will need an SD card for this to work.

Try a modded whatsapp like GBWhatsapp or Ado2Sadam whatsapp plus, I find that GBWhatsapp works for me better than normal whatsapp.

Why is whatsapp so popular? It seems to be a big thing in third world countries for the most part. I don't know anyone here in ontario that even has whatsapp. In fact I know more bbm users.

Simple reason is that here in North America we get SMS etc with our data plans and nearly everyone here uses text only. In other parts of the world that is an extra expense for people. So they look to a free alternative and it just happens that WA beat all the other messengers to the punch.
