I was just on the Hoopla Web site and noticed a couple of movies I would like to watch next week while travelling would be nice to download onto my K1 them playback via hotel tv. But of course there is no outlet on K1 to doing that function, just the downside as compared to my Z10 which had that ability.

Hello laptop who said you will be replaced by the cell phone,

Hello laptop who said you will be replaced by the cell phone,
Do you have a chrome cast?? If so travel with it. And play download through the cast option in settings

I don't recall, does the KeyOne support any type of hardware output? Slimport type connection?

edited to add: I have been informed that probably NOT.

Chromecast will only work if on a wifi network so you would need the WiFi details of the hotel router. Also if you are able to get that others on the same network may be able to pause or end what your playing.

May not work on a hotel TV. Most often, the TV's that are used are made specifically for hotels and some features are disabled.

Good find. wasn't aware that this could be done. Although reading through the instructions I get the impression that it still needs wifi but a guest can connect to it with out using WiFi on their device

Also, I have to guess that using the Google Chrome device, google will know what you are viewing or listening to??? Also, maybe the built-in cast feature also monitors your viewing patterns?

The Google knows all. The question is, do you want to know all the Google knows?

Wrap two layers of foil around your face, poking holes for eyes and nose. Using a rubber band, attach phone close to ear being careful not to make an ear hole. Now take a metal pot lid and hold it over the phone while you Chromecast and Google can't detect what you're thinking or viewing on the TV.

Side note, raising your right foot for a certain period of time will release a special Easter egg...

Also, if you place the pot lid on your head during commercials, you guessed it, the telemarketers won't get your info.

While I don't watch porn (will that get censored), I still don't need Google recording everything I do. Just tonight Alexa/echo chimed in without being asked. My friend suggested throwing Alexa in the garbage so that she does not spy on everything we were talking about. My friend values her privacy and SOMETIMES mine! (g)

I did add it to the collection of spying devices this afternoon. It would not work without LOCATION being turned on. Why would it need location - well, it did show local temperature but I did not need that. I've since turned off Location for it and we shall see when it balks.

Anything like Alexa, Google home, Google voice assistant has to always listen, or it won't know when you ask it something. I won't use any of that, and don't like being in a home with it either.

You can turn the microphone off and only turn it on again when you want to use it

Chromecast is the standard nowadays. In fact, besides BB10 was there any other mobile phones with micro HDMI output slots?

Because the video-out functionality is not there.

As suggested in the post after yours, there was the SLIMPORT feature that was similar to hdmi out.
