I have a Pearl 8100 that won't work on AT&T anymore because they shut off their 2G towers, and my Dad unfortunately traded in his Bold 9900 when we got our first glass slabs.

The Torch 9810 looks slick and is like a BBOS Priv. Cheap as chips, too. I'm a high school student with a S7 Edge (with the keyboard cover and Hub+ of course!) and find that I'm not consuming mind-numbing content as much as I am texting and writing essays. All I need is Email, SMS and MMS, Phone, and some internet browsing. Instagram and YouTube would be a plus, but aren't necessary as I can use my S7 as a tablet or use my homemade Windows machine. I'm on AT&T.

It looks like I'd just need the AT&T service books and Opera Mini and I'd be fine? Don't think my plan includes BIS. I don't mind a little fiddling around, I find that stuff fun.

Go for it, should be a cheap phone and you won't be out much if it doesn't meet your needs.

T-Mobile still has their 2g towers up and running. You might be able to save some money compared to the $70 on a new 9810 from office Depot or best buy

Without BIS, you should download logicmail to get mail. Don't plan on social media, though. ATT has BIS on postpaid plans.
