Same thing happened to me, both on Leap and Passport. In the Leap I have 68 contacts, while in Passport 90. Normally I should have a bit more than 300 contacts....

Does this possibly have anything to do with how BB10 creates or counts duplicate contacts. Therefore, have you truly lost contacts or just their duplication?

I sincerely have no idea what could have happened. Even when the contacts are duplicated, the numbers should be appearing. I have really no idea.... So now my curiosity is ....why do some contacts get accepted/found and other no?

Probably our dear WA developer for BB10 could have been providing an answer.

Anyway, thanks for your kind reply!! Now we can start to argue again!! lol!!

Check the number formating on the contact (especially country code)? IIRC, WhatsApp requires it to be exact to what the user signed up with.

Yes, it is working. Thanks a lot. It is necessary within the contacts app of bb10 to divide country code from the mobile number. Like: +39 12574555....

I've solved the duplicate problem with Max Contact Manager, a paid app but in a few minutes after using it your contact are merged again.
