    Hah!

I really am enjoying my Leap after the recent deaths of my Z30 and Passport and brief affair with a DTEK60 and the two people I got the Leaps for are basic users coming from a Z10 and Z30.

There are dumb phones that cost the same, to me $90/$117 is a bargain.

Not a bad price, keep in mind though that these aren't being sold by BlackBerry but a third party seller (although it's fulfilled by Amazon which is great for support).

True, but they are authorised by BB to sell them on their behalf and have full factory warranty. In fact, the Leap's 'Buy' tab at Shop BlackBerry links directly to this Amazon page.

Not sure what you're looking at, but the official Amazon are listed $137 US. Your warranty is with Amazon, the seller, who may or may not deal with BB on specific issue. The other retailer like Breed are just Third party sellers and typically you deal with them and their warranty or lack there of. AFAIK, Breed is not authorized retailer....

That may well be the case in the US but in Canada Wireless Experts, Inc are the official vendors for BB via Amazon. I checked with them before I bought my own Leap from them a few months ago and they stated that the 12 month factory warranty is still valid as are OTA updates. The link that I originally posted is the same one ca.shopblackberry.com send you to when you click on the purchase tab. Just checked the link again and it goes to the CA page listing the device at $117CAD, maybe it defaults to the US page if you're clicking from there?

Way different here. The only BB that are official are through Amazon itself. I'm surprised any of the Canadian sellers are official since they have no Amazon history to speak of... Guess we don't know how good we got it sometimes.....

What's really surprising... is that there is still inventory to sell. Chen was "suppose" to be working with those builders to protect BlackBerry from over production and from write-offs. And by the time the LEAP was launched, BB10 was already an EOL product (internally). That they built enough to meet demand for two full years after the LEAP was launched.... is a clear indicator that sometimes Chen was speaking gibberish.

Maybe BlackBerry had that many of those MSM8960 SoC left and they just built a device around each one....

But if the guy is happy, where is the problem with 2015 hardware? I use also sometimes a Leap...it depends from the use everybody does. Do the BlackBerrys android mount the best and newest hardware? No, but some users are happy with them, so as some with Windows mobile...

My quote said exactly that. 2015 hardware good for text, email and talk. If that's all you need and you're happy, great!!
