    Folks,

Looks like an interesting phone! So is anyone planning to import one to North America? To Canada or the US? I KNOW we probably have better options with the DTEK 60 BUT ain't it cool to have something no one else has? So who's going to do it? Does it even have the correct frequencies?

For Europe only the LTE frequency 800 MHz is missing which is mostly used in rural areas, but the typical city LTE frequencies are supported by the Aurora. Therefore and much more because of the DualSIM function I'm planning to import it in the near future. I just didn't find a smart way to do that. Anybody knows a way to import the Aurora to Europe/Germany?

Yes, it should work in Europe. It has LTE Band 1, 3, 7 and 8. So only LTE Band 20 is missing. so in cities it'll support LTE, but not in rural areas.

If the BlackBerry Z3 is anything to go by, it won't be long before the Aurora materialises through a niche eBay or Amazon seller (with or without import duty). It would cross my mind to import it to the UK as a second device, as it definitely appeals to me - although I'll be interested to see what TCL produce in terms of a budget handset (and the new Nokia range!)

Yes, I'm hoping for eBay or Amazon too.
The thing with a possible budget handset from TCL is, that - I guess - it wouldn't come with DualSIM function. And DualSIM makes the Aurora interesting to me in the first place.

If they do the same foolishness GM did in Europe (stopping the commercialization of Chevrolets, so as to prop up Opel/Vauxhall sellings), they will probably loose customers.

I saw somewhere that the price is $250 (converted). For that price, getting a phone with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage is an amazing deal. Don't think I'll be importing one but it's definitely got me at least considering.

Maybe one of 'the kids' can use it as a 'starter' phone. It looks like some bands work in Africa.

While looking for it I fought HP Elite Dual SIM. I will wait for a week or so for Aurora else I will just get HP Elite 3,the Windows10. Its the next best OS after BB10.

Those people wanting to import this phone, why not ring the retail store or telco and buy direct.

I can't see why they wouldn't sell to you direct .....

I think the Aurora would be a fun little device to have kicking around the house to use on wifi for media, playing games... basically anything other than calls since it doesn't have the bands to work in Canada. I really like the look of it and LOVE the BB logo on the front. I'm curious about its dimensions. Is it about the same size as the DTEK50? Z10? Z30? Would make for a pretty spiffy media device.

Because most won't ship it international. Just like how most Canadian and American retailers won't ship international either. In some cases, it's illegal for them to do so and they can be fined. Although a somewhat unique incident, no company wants to be the next ZTE.
