Ive just recovered my bb curve 3g after a OS reload but the only O2 image I can find is way out of date. The BB world says it needs to update as its version 2. It tries to update via the browser but fails to load or update. Does anyone know where I can get an upto date image or update the OS?

Im using an O2 uk image.

All this from trying to load blackberry maps grrrrr

Sorry for the vague opening question - I was on the bus at the time!

The image I downloaded from the O2 website is 9300M_PBr6.0.0_rel3170_PL6.6.0.252_A6.0.0.756_O2_U K.

I notice the image is Vodafone India, is that OK to use on a UK O2 handset?

Well I've downloaded and installed 9300jAsia_PBr6.0.0_rel3049_PL6.6.0.246_A6.0.0.706_ Vodafone_Essar_Limited - fingers crossed

Sadly no joy. Although it is using App World 3.0.0.73 - better than 2.x on the O2 UK image its still wanting to upgrade App World (assuming to version 4?).

It Opens up the native browser tries going to http:\\appworld.blackberry.com but says "A Communication failure has occurred. The server maybe busy........"

Any ideas on how to proceed?

I had the same issue with my 9105 some months ago. It took a lot of time to find the installation files for the AppWorld v4.0. Fortunately, I still have them...

Download the file, extract it, put the folder on the SD card or device memory and open "appw.jad" on the device using the file manager.

Thanks Scullcy! You are a legend! Installed and working a treat! Defiantly a file to be backed up again and again and kept in multiple locations!

All of this so I can get BB Maps working with Whatsapp. After bricking my dear tatty Curve 3G and then bringing it back from the dead, I think I'll forgive the BB Maps not working.
