One criticism; the light sensor on my previous Q10 broke for no apparent reason, meaning the phone was useless in low light conditions. On my current Q10, the sensor began acting up recently. A reboot sorted it out but would be wary the sensor is going to stop working altogether on this phone.

An option to manually turn the keyboard light on would be so great!

I don't use any of Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp (I must be in a tiny minority of my age group that doesn't) so the Q10 still shines for me. The Q10 also had the advantage of being robust and modular making replacing the various parts very easy.

A few months ago, I was pretty pumped to get the Q10 as I had owned one previously. Unfortunately, due to the outdated browser and runtime, I am looking into getting an iphone soon. No matter which update you have, the browser will still not function 100%. This phone would be great for just phone, email and text but unfortunately for the little bit more than that I need, it falls short.

I bought a brand new Q10 on ebay a few months ago and it's definitely the best smartphone I've used. I don't need to be on Android because I don't really use any apps.

For me the best things about it are the compact size (I don't need or want a large phone), the keyboard and being able to change the battery easily in the future is a bonus.
But web browsing is a little tedious due to screen size, don’t you think?

That is an easy work-around, simply have a 19" monitor with you when you want to browse the web. It's easier on the eyes.

Yeah, but lugging that monitor around even in a hunting backpack is tough on the shoulders and back.......LOL

I think web browsing is a compromise on phones, even on the larger ones. You need a laptop or larger for a descent experience.

The Q10 shines on the phone tasks. That is email, messaging, phone calls and gps. It has no match.

Mine does as well. It was a superior device. Much more comfortable and lighter to hold and work with throughout the day.

Why is this an issue for you? I've been running Q10 for about 4 years. As with most battery powered devices, the Q10 does work much better with a healthy battery. But the majority of online sources tend to agree that it's quite easy to get an OEM BlackBerry battery VERY easily on Amazon at affordable prices. I paid $6 for the 1st time I needed a new battery and they are ridiculously simple to find from limiting search JUST to the area where you have permanent online stores vs private party. It's not that all private party sellers are not trustworthy, but I prefer to see that 98% would buy from the seller again over the absolute lowest price

Just my $.02, YMMV ! ;-) sent via my Q10

I had a Q10 and then switched to a Priv. I would like to come back to the Q10. What would be the best place to get a Q10 in good condition and what carrier should I use?

Pick the best carrier for you. Coverage and cost are probably more important to you since if you don't have a good signal or if your service is disconnected, the device really not relevant.

Then, after you pick carrier, buy a Q10 off eBay or Amazon that's compatible with your carrier... Good luck....

I have a Q10 with a silver bezel and it looks just like the 9900. The toolbelt is no issue at all after a few months and I now find touch screen easier. The small size of the Q10 is the best thing as it easily fits in pockets without discomfort. I have three batteries and stand-alone chargers so always have a 100% charged battery ready. It's perfect my needs as I don't use the browser and I'm not into any social media apps.

What is the best Q10 for use in USA? I can get an available SQN100-1 new in box, how does it compare to other versions?

I'm also looking into buying an unlocked q10. I have a samsung Galaxy S5 on Tmobile. I'm a novice in buying an unlocked phone. I'm in the USA, is the SQN100-1 important when purchasing?

Different phones within specific BlackBerry models were made for different markets. You don't want a European phone in the US. I found a list of the Q10 models and what bands they support:
    NETWORKTechnologyGSM/CDMA/HSPDA/LTE
    2G bandsGSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - all versions
    CDMA 800 / 1900 - SQN100-2, SQN100-4
    3G bandsHSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - SQN100-1
    HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - SQN100-2, SQN100-3, SQN100-4
    HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - SQN100-5
    4G bandsLTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 17(700) - SQN100-1, SQN100-5
    LTE band 4(1700/2100), 13(700) - SQN100-2
    LTE band 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800) - SQN100-3
    LTE band 25(1900) - SQN100-4
