I'm currently with Bell Mobility and have been since 2006. I'm on an old 36 month corporate plan that doesn't allow me a hardware upgrade unless I switch to a current plan. That 36 months contract has long expired but I can't resign so therefore I'm not eligible for a hardware subsidy.
Right now I'm paying $59 per month ($52 +tax) for both voice and date which breaks downs as follow
Voice $22 + $30 Data
250 daytime minutes
Unlimited incoming calls
Unlimited text message
Free evenings and weekends start at 6PM
Voicemail, caller ID, callwaiting
6GB of data
Right now the corporate deal they want to migrate me to is $60 and although the calling features are better it's overall a worse plan.
New Plan I'm Being Offered - $60 + tax
250 daytime minutes
Unlimited locale nights and weekends starting at 6PM
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a current corporate plan for government or public sector employees that is close to what I have now that I would be eligible for? I'm sure there are better corporate plans that I'm legitimately available for but obviously Bell wants to push me onto what's best for them. My main thing is that I want to stay around the $50-60 price range and I need at least 5GB of data.
Maybe call, the other carriers, and let them know you want to switch? I know it's pretty competitive here in the US. The carriers LOVE switchers and will often give you special deals, cash back, free phones, etc.
Mine with Bell is $50 + tax. My business needs are mainly during the day where I am typically in front of my desktop, using the main computer for heavy lifting and using Skype for overseas calling:
