Yes absolutely would buy it. The Passport remains my favourite phone of all time! It would make me forgive BlackBerry for releasing a Black and faster Keyone so soon after I purchased the Silver Keyone which in my view had lagging issues. I sold the Silver Keyone and bought the Blackberry Motion. It's a good job us BlackBerry fans are loyal!

I mostly enjoy the absolutely brilliant and super productive BlackBerry Hub, Calendar and Messaging apps.
If they get a Passport Android, do you think they will create a proprietary Android ROM that comes with these apps?
I mean, there's no way I would buy a new Passport just for it being an Android device.

I wish we could get a bit smaller Passport, full QWERTY with a physical numeric keyboard (hate the virtual one), better battery, Android with BlackBerry's Hub, Calendar and Messaging app.

    What do you think?
Yes OP, it's called the KEYone...

I'm curious is it the width/size of the device that everyone loves? I used the passport and missed my numbers being accessed so easily. I wouldn't mind a passport style device with 4 rows of keys and a bigger screen but doubtful we ever see the android passport with the 1 to 1 screen ratio.

Only if it behaved as it does now in terms of its smooth action if it behaves like an android did in the past then no.

The latest version is indeed butter smooth the older version was just a nightmare with sluggishness and lockups.

If it had a solid build as it does now and high tech batter and at least 5 gigs of ram I'd buy it.

Passport w/android is not a passport. It's a Chinese copycat w/android (like they do with iphones)
By the way I miss my sold passport some regretting here, but the life goes on.

No I would buy a passport with android installed. I would however download a flash image to run Android on my existing passport. If I didn't like it I would just switch back. I would be willing to spend up to $5 for such an image.

I guess one of these tech geeks on here need to do it and prove it works and then get back to us and give us a warranty and fast shipping until then give it a rest

I would if it met the following:

    1) Larger Screen,....add 1/2" to current PP screen's height!
    2) The Width is ok,...reason why I bought the PP in the first place.
    3) More Ram,...4GB to 6GB
    4) Faster Processor,...I'm talking damn near future proof!
    5) 5000mah Battery,....should easy with larger screen!
    6) Wireless Charging,...should be easy to do!
    7) Fingerprint reader in the spacebar,...or beneath the screen.
    8) Make that a Lightening fast fingerprint reader!...like that on the Mate 9
    9) What the heck,...just out-spec my current Mate 9 (...or the new Mate 10) and I'm back to Blackberry in a flash!

i think the passport form factor may have to give up the keyboard in order to have a compatible screen ratio to android. A 4:3 ratio would likely be the closest ratio in order to preserve the form factor.
With that in mind, they should consider an on-board stylus. It would be a bold move and step up to the note

A Passport 2 SE with a "passport" sized screen with a 3 row keyboard below would be a perfect phone for me. The screen would be compatible with Android specs and wouldn't be much taller than the Keyone. The Passport SE was by far my favorite phone.
