The rumored 9900 seems like a BB that can appeal to all types of BB users. I am a storm2 user and I think I would love the screen as it won't be too much smaller than the storm2. I think the 9700, 9650, and curve users would also like this phone since it will have the keyboard and larger screen.

Will this 9900 be for CDMA, GSM, or both?

I am hoping it will be for Verizon so I can get it.

I have a strong hunch that this phone will finally be made, RIM know that they have to up the ante next year and it's been proven that if they bring this form factor out, it will be a huge seller, it's the one style that is consistently asked and wished for in these forums. I for one will buy it immediately, even though I have the 9700 and now the 9780, I still have kept my crapped out 9000 and still pick it up and use that fantastic keyboard.

You mean this one? Hope they have updated the spec since then.

That article also states GSM and nothing about CDMA.

Same here. I've had several models and jumped to the 9000 to the 9700, and now the 9800. If the 9900 were to drop today, I would get it two......Today. Hopefully, we will see this device in 2011(ish) along with 4G/3G service as opposed to 3G/2G by at&t. Dream Big or Stay at Home.

Droid pro is 320x480 at 3.1" but its the PPI, not the lines of resolution that make a screen beautiful. The Torch/Storm series screen measures at 3.2", at 480x360, so that makes the PPI slightly better (187?). The 9630/9700/9780 has the best PPI of all of them (245?) 360x480 at 2.4"

I really REALLY hope they raise the bar on the next run of BlackBerry devices. The Iphone4 has raised the bar very high on screen PPI and the screen is an absolutely beauty because of its 960x640 at 3.5" (326 I believe, and apparently the eye can't tell any difference above 300)

Not to go off topic but i wanted to thank you for throwing that out there. You have no idea how bad it makes me cringe when people go on and on about resolution and megapixels without knowing what it is and how it actually affects what they intend to do with the images.

I really hope they make this as well as a gsm style, I love the 9700 but the screen is too small, especially when sitting on the dashboard in the car. I realise the torch is an option but slider doesn't really appeal to me, years ago I had a nokia slider in my shirt pocket, ran across the road, it flew out of my pocket right in the path of my foot, you can imagine the rest
