The current 3D enabled phones from RIM all use the QUALCOMM chipset to get their 3D on.

In order to not splinter their market too much, they will need 3D in non-CDMA phones soon. Tegra 2 from nVidia would be sweet.

Any rumours of such a device?

Tegra in a cellphone would absolutely murder battery life. In a tablet it would work, but I don't see any applications for cell phones anytime soon

The Tegra is used in the MS Zune HD player and it seems to have a pretty good battery life. Tegra in a phone would be pretty awesome.

There was a time not long ago when the latest Blackberrys had high end specs comparable to competitors. It would appear that RIM has gotten cheap because all of the stuff this year sounds like it will end up with inferior specs compared to the competition.

It seems the new MS Kin One/Two phones are indeed using the Tegra chip and are said to last a full weekend with a single charge.

The Kin One looks like it'll be a popular phone if it's $49 or $99.

Storm 3 is probably going to be a disaster and the beginning of the end for RIM. Everyone knows the real race is between iPhone and Android now, Blackberry isn't even mentioned as part of the race anymore. Unless the Storm 3 can match or beat the specs of the iPhone 2010, with a UI to match, it's all over. RIM can't be successful by staying always behind it's competitors.
