So, my brother went into an AT&T Retail Store in Manhattan and was opening a buisness account for about 20 lines for his business. He was deciding on getting all 9700s but then told the representatives that the phone was too small and changed his decision. Because of this the representative said to not get the 9700 because it will be uncomfortable and the 9000 is old. He told him that the Blackberry 9800 is coming in March 2010 to AT&T. This is my only proof, no audio conversation or written proof.

Hm I haven't seen any information on this and I think we would have a couple pictures of it if that was true. Also with the 9700 just releasing, I'm not sure they would be coming out with a newer and better version just 3 or 4 months after. There would be some angry people for sure.

This is exactly what happened with the tour ... But you are right though we wouldve seen some pics in the wild by now... however it wouldn't surprise me if RIM did something like that again.

Haha yeah well atleast there aren't major problems with the 9700 like the Tour had. That's probably why the essex is being rushed without any other changes besides trackpad and wifi. Maybe if the Tour didn't have as many problems, they would have waited to bring the essex until maybe a year later and include some new features.

Yeah, when I returning my 9700, the AT&T rep told me that a new Blackberry will be coming out soon (meaning at some point in 2010 I'm assuming) that will be touch and full qwerty keyboard. Of course, I'm sure she meant the Dakota. I got excited until she told me it was the Onyx! I pointed at the box for the 9700 I just returned and said "but that's the Onyx". She just looked at me and said "trust me...I know". I'm not buying it, but you never know!

The ATT reps only know more about iPhones than they would care about the everyday BlackBerry user. Great to have rumors, but pics of the phone or some sort of internal docs would be better. All I can say is, they lied to you. The next BB coming out for ATT is the 9100 Pearl 2.

I hope this comes out soon. I passed on the 9700 because I liked the size and feel of the 9000 much better. I think the 9700 was better than the VZW Tour but have to wonder why RIM and AT&T just didn't go with a beefed up 9000.

I have not heard of any dates but I have heard that a full size Bold is in the future. I hope it isn't the distant future.

I agree also. Im really considering foregoing the 9700 and just sticking with my 9000. The smaller phone to me is a pain to try and text on etc. I feel if they keep the size of the 9000 and improved its camera, processor etc it will be an even better device. BB please stop thinking that awesome features (which are appreciated) put into a small device is always best. For many its an inconvenience

    I have big hands... I've tried the 9700, I can't use it.

I love my 9000, but, if I had to, I would go with the curve 8520 over the 9700 and lose GPS just to have a keyboard I can use. The 9000 keyboard is ALMOST too small and too close together for me.

9000 definetly feels more sturdy then the 9700. maybe the rep said that so he wouldnt have to activate 20 lines? LOL

Yeah from my experiences the reps at the store don't know more than any one of us here, and generally they know less it seems. I think sometime in the future we can expect another Bold (real bold) sized device, just being that there's so many people passing up the 9700 because of its size. I've had quite a few BlackBerries and I loved them all, but since trying the Bold every other BlackBerry I use just isn't as good. The size of the Bold is perfect for me. Nice sized screen and wonderful keyboard, but still pocketable.

No way, just like the other dude said,"they just released the 9700". That'd be cool if they did release an better than the bold, with something like the same size as the original bold with power. I'll have to hit my homie up @ the at&t store tomorrow to see if he says if he's heard anything

I dont see the attraction to the bigger 9000 over the 9700 personally but then again im used to the 8900 which is the same size as the 9700.
