Thats what i'm thinking too, I really wna get the newly announced 9720 when it comes out but if a new bold comes out after that my heart would be torn, would love a new bold, reminiscent of the 9900

Does anyone know if the new OS7 device is part of the Six devices to release this year?

If so then after the z30 there's just one other device left...

I have no clue, but if its not I hope they bring out a slider, that would be the one!

I would love a landscape a slider, my z10 with a keyboard plus a trackpad.

Oh no I said track pad, the track pad police will be here any moment.

Maybe the 10.2 will finally put the cursor select issue at rest who knows, I'm sceptical though.

If they do put a trackpad on a slider device I think that device would be the most popular, satisfy the needy ones needs and mostly make the most money out of all the BB10 devices. It would be the perfect all round device. But then again I also hope they bring out a revamped 9900, I would like the option and it will also the lagacy ppl's needs...the bold 9999!

Now if Porsche made this with BB10 and charged $2000 that would more sense than taking the Z10 and changing just the outer shell and charging $2000.

No value has been added to justify their pricing besides aesthetics, much like their cars I guess.

There is zero chance of them bringing out a revamped 9900, they would need to add specs and features that would take dev resources to implement and they would need to charge too much for it to make it worth their while.

There was also a perceived zero chance of them bringing out any OS7 device after laying off their java developers, adopting BB10, marketing BB10.

Nothing is impossible, not with RIM, they can change their name but I'm not naive, it's still RIM to me.

Don't think a 9900 is coming, if that were the case, it would be coming out instead of the 9720. Personally, I think the release of another OS7 device was a bad decision. If the device was meant for emerging markets, they should have made it with more plastic or something to bring the cost down. $300 puts it right up there with the cost of the Q5... which makes no sense.

Yeah it is abit overpriced but I know that by the end of the first month it'll go down, hopefully to a more reasonable price, and I think they bought it out because alotta ppl cnt/dnt get the BB10 devices so this is for them, plus maybe its for the ppl who jus want a phone for a phone

Err, there was always a chance of them bringing out a low cost device and indeed they even mentioned it quite some time ago as a possibility, there is a massive difference between them doing that and spending money and resources on producing a device that would result in minimal net sales since a more expensive model would be competing against themselves.

While I agree with you on them not bringing out a 9900 update, I think you are focusing too much on the sim-free price at launch, this is going to end up being about 120 on payg in the UK by Xmas which is where it needs to be in order to sell.

Oh, that's beautiful! Looks awesome. And if it had the size of the Q10 screen, it would be perfection -- I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Nope, they mentioned a low end bb7 device a while ago for certain markets as they recognised they were never going to hit the lower end of their product range with a dual-core bb10 device this year.

    What do you mean, Nope?
What is your source that shows they mentioned a low end bb7 device "a while ago".

As far as I am aware, we only learned of this a few months ago, in June at the earnings call.

Prior to this announcement, the Q5 was for the certain emerging markets, until the prices were made public, and now the UK has the device, a well known emerging market, a leader of the third world countries.
