If you've seen the Q30 concepts with the 16:9 screen, it's pretty clear that it makes the phone far too tall.

I feel like a 4:3 screen would be the best when keeping in mind the balance of the phone and the proportions. I know it's not ideal for video watching or anything, but it is an improvement on 1:1.

But then I realized that some computer monitors actually have a 16:10 screen, which would allow for the phone to be not as tall as 16:9.

What would be the ideal screen size? 16:9, 4:3, or 16:10? I'm curious what kind of inputs you guys have

    yes the 4:3 .

16:9 or 16:10 would only work with a landscape slider. Much too wide for a portrait Q.

16x10. Would make for some beautiful media consumption, and lots of space for reading.

Oh, and a beautifully big keyboard top

Slider would probably be more realistic for this though.

I have to say that if I wasn't using a w/s device I think I would actually prefer a 1:1 display over a 4:3 device as you end up with more screen real estate vertically without ending up with a wider device.

If you actually mean a 3:4 display then you should probably use the correct term since unlike on an all-touch device a qwerty model is only intended to be used in a single orientation.

You might be right about the distinction between 3:4 and 4:3 but everyone understands what I'm talking about. Hence why everyone (even CB) uses 16:9 even when it should be 9:16 technically.

16:9 is a more reasonable one to use though since an all-touch device can readily be used in both orientations which isn't the case for a qwerty device and both 3:4 and 4:3 could be readily considered as viable options for such a device too.

Whatever the ratio is of an iPhone 4S screen, that's what they should do.

    1:1 !!!
Bold is a 4:3 and I immediately fell in love with the squared Q10 screen!
Bigger keyboard, yeah! The same Q, 1.5x or 2x bigger would do it for me!

Strictly on ergonomic design, if the suffix "Q" links strictly to candybar, 16:10 or 16:9 screen is definitely out of the question. Too awkward for the users, and a laughing stock to BB users, when mocked upon by other OS users. Font sizing and display will be affected as well, if viewed in portrait mode.

4:3 is the better choice for candybar qwerty BB.
