When I see legacy devices still in the wild it is usually a Bold or a Torch followed closely by the odd curve. The slider format was popular. If done right I'm absolutely in on that. Although I've been thinking of going all touch lately for a next phone. I just hope the Z30 isn't my only BB choice come next January.

I'd take it, but would prefer the Blade slider if I had my choice.

I'm afraid it will be out of balance unless they put heavy weight into the keyboard.

This concept is still my favorite..

    I still want this as a BlackBerry 10 device-blackberry-blade.jpg

Obviously loose the trackpad and other buttons, extend the screen to the full front and the actual BB10 UI but this Hardware is just sexy.. and there's curved phones on the market now, so nobody can still say this can't be done.

I'm signing a blank check as we speak.. someone let me know when I can buy this.

Edit: I don't remember off the top of my head which one of our members had made this now, but whoever you are it's time for a refreshed blade 2.0 update now that BB10 is a reality. Throw the proper UI on it, loose the buttons and show is the goods!

I seen some nicer slider designs on here...but I completely agree...a new slider is due. especially given how much BlackBerry has progressed with their touch screen since the torch days

i am surprised it is not in the works... if they listen to these forums they would know people want the touch screen and they want there keyboard. and the biggest complaint of the q was the screen size.... its only logic to make another slider... i know a few people that would be on board..

With the way phones are now a days, I feel that whenever BlackBerry does return to the consumer market with new phones they can't avoid the large touch screen phone due to apps and functionality. So since BlackBerry is the smartphone with the keyboard, I say they should abandon the Q10/Bold form factor and go with a slider. I know this won't be a popular opinion around here, and trust me I still have a soft spot for that form factor also. However, if they were to stick with a Z10/Z30 form factor and add a Slider similar to some of these concepts then they could continue to provide the keyboard for the group that still wants (which is getting smaller and smaller as time passes) and still have the continuity of the large touch screen when it comes to apps and experience. Plus with how amazing and effective the virtual BB10 keyboard is on the Z10/Z30 I honestly can't see myself going back to a Q10 style phone, idk if I would even consider a slider over a candy bar phone.

Theres a market for all 3. The BB10 familly is perfect if the next phone is a slider. High end/low end all-touch and Q style, plus one high end slider. Covers every segment.

When done right. Obviously I don't want it 'exactly' like the image. Needs polish but it could be a nice device. I hated the Torch when I first saw it, hated it less when I used it... ended up loving it.
Same here. Actually wanted the Style 9670 BlackBerry everyone dismissed. Ended up getting the 9800 and the 9810 and loving the Slider concept.

why not figure out a way put a 2nd screen on a Q10 or Q10 body style on the battery cover, and have the option to use either screen?

I had both the 9800 and 9810. The 9800 was a good phone. The 9810 was a great phone. I love the slider, and a BB10 slider would be awesome.

Probably 100x q10 sales the q was a flop by design couldn't show enough difference between q and 9900. Every q I handed to my staff 50% came back wanting legacy devices for better style of usage.

If its done right, a definite consideration. I liked my 9810 but it had a funny balance and the device was a bit bulky. I would want the device to be fairly thin....or as thin as such a design could allow.

The Torch 9810 has been my best Blackberry to date.
If that thing had beefier specs my z10 would not get a look in
