I was just kidding.. didn't mean to rub the wrong way. We've had years and years of speculations on crackberry. Very few of them come true so we're all a bit jaded when it comes to something to look forward to. If there is a z50 I'll be getting it

All I wanna know is who started this "Z50" nonsense. That's not even a real device version as of yet, if ever lol. Do people just randomly assign numbers to rumored devices and roll with it or.....what?
I think people saw the z10 & z30 and just continued the pattern lol.

Probably people just extrapolating based on BlackBerry's normal lack of creativity or marketing prowess. At least they aren't assuming it will be a Torch or Storm.

Good news, if the rumors are right and this phone will see daylight Q3 I'll be getting it instantly! Got my Z30 Nov. 2013 and I may pick another device late July! I'll be sure to follow the latest rumors about this one

It's just a rumor at this point I won't place any money on it. Although they do need to get a new flagship out quickly so as to not be left behind in the spec race. (more then they are already)

Your point? Talk to Chen if you have a problem with it. He's made it clear they are focusing on qwerty phones and enterprise.
I don't have to, Chen talked to us. More devices coming

No link, just the reality that they are focusing on enterprise and qwerty phones.

Whose reality is that? They're bringing out another QWERTY phone with the belt. I don't see that as focusing on QWERTY phones. Nobody said they're focusing on QWERTY phones, and even if they were, it doesn't mean the end of touch screens any more than focusing on enterprise meant the end of their consumer business.

Dude you are quoting something I said a month ago and that was exactly what Chen said they were going to do. And you'll see below that I said they would be releasing a low end touch screen phone, followed by a qwerty device. So that's your reality.

That is absolutely not what anyone said they were going to do, outside of a few people around here with reading comprehension problems. One more time -- he said we're going to be seeing more QWERTY phones. He never said they weren't making any more touch screen devices. Not now, not then.

Chen: "future BlackBerry models will predominantly be handsets that offer a physical QWERTY keyboard."

I never said all of them, I said the focus would be on qwerty keyboards which is what Chen said. And if Blackberry makes another high end touchscreen phone that's great, but I think it's going to depend on how well the next two models sell.

I actually agree. Although it's a bit overkill I think that if BlackBerry can come out with the highest spec phone at the time it's released it would go a long way to convincing the general public that there's still fight left in them.

Constantly coming our with phones that are decent, but that don't compete on specs isn't helping. Instead of trying to convince people that BlackBerry's specs are "good enough" let high end specs speak for themselves next to an iPhone or Galaxy.

Thinking the same thing. It would be a shame if there is no follow up to the Z50 after reading all the great reviews about the device.

Actually, John Chen did hint at a new flagship qwerty device (probably the rumored Q30) this year as well as the lower end Jakarta. No mention of the Rumored Z50, but in SEC filings last year, there was mention of 2 new flagship devices (a qwerty = Q30 / a touch = Z50) on target for release this year (Q30 in Q2 / Z50 in Q3). I'm more confident in the Q30 coming to fruition, since Chen said they are going to reestablish their dominance in the qwerty keyboard market in light of the Typo Keyboard controversy. As for the Z50, it's just too early to say much about it. We will probably learn more once we get closer to Spring/Summer. What's interesting is that 10.2.1+ is rumored for the summer (Q2-Q3), and that's the time the Q30 is rumored to be launching. 10.3 is said to be releasing in the fall (Q3-Q4), and that's the time the Z50 is rumored to be launching. So, it certainly seems BlackBerry has a lot stored in their arsenal for 2014, and even into 2015.

There's no point in bringing a Z50 if they can't market the Z30. There's nothing wrong with the Z30. It is considered by many non-BlackBerry users to be one of the best devices on the market. Problem is, and has always been, marketing. They've been pushing the Z30 in some ads lately but all they advertise is the 25 hours of battery life. The Z30 is soo much more. It has the best sound in the market and that is never marketed. The time shift camera is definately a wow feature....never marketed. If they bring out a Z50 with this same attitude towards marketing, what's the point?
