Z10's size but Z30's battery would be perfect, but we may be pushing the boundary of physics here.

Personally it would be nice if it was the size of the note 3 phone

I think the current size is good. I've already turned my Note 3 into a tablet. The Z30 is *almost* too big for me. It took a lot for me to adjust to...

Just a data point: I'm not a fan of the Z30's size. It's a touch too big and definitely not easy to use one-handed. Never had that issue with the Z10. I suspect the sweet spot is somewhere in between 4.2" and 5".

I don't get the whole "must be able to use a phone one-handed" thing. The last time I checked, I have two hands.
If I'm composing an email, regardless of the keyboard, I will either hold a phone with one hand and swipe with a finger, or hold with both hands and hit the keys with my thumbs.
    If I used a slab phone, there's no way I'd take a Z10 over a Z30.
Not saying that your rationale is wrong. ... Whatever works for you is fine. With respect to size though, the bigger the better, from my perspective, until it either no longer will slide easily into my pocket, or is so large that simple movements threaten to bend or otherwise damage the phone while it's in my pocket.

Z50 high end device with a 5" screen. BBRY offers choice. That's the key. I can also see a Z10 re-vamp coming out too.

There are definitely situations where the one hand configuration is extremely useful. Right now I am comfortably sitting in my office and I can use both hands to type on the Z30 keyboard. When I am traveling for work I always have one hand busy (luggage, documents, notes etc..). THAT is the situation where I need to swipe up words fast, send emails and and call quickly: everything with one hand.. The Z30 is borderline (at least for the size of my hands) to be used one handed.. but there are definitely tricks that BlackBerry can use to make the screen slightly bigger and still comfortable for that use. They can reduce the size of the bezels and rearrange the icons (like they are already doing with 10.3)

Have to say that the Z10 that I'm now using is pretty good. I think a small cpu update and just a bit bigger battery would be all of an update that is needed. It is a nice phone. And now available for about $160 used here in the US.

By reducing the bezel, you could get a 5" screen into a device only slightly bigger than the Z10...I have a Nexus 5 that is just slightly bigger than my Z10 and smaller than a Z30 but has a 5" screen.

That would be absolutely amazing. Like how there is massive bezel on the Q10 too. Just minimize bezel and the phone will be larger but still very satisfactory for one handed use!

I definitely think a larger screen could be incorporated without making the overall footprint much bigger.

Yeah, I'm all about single handed use, too, though I prefer to type longer messages in landscape with two thumbs.

I think the Z50 upgrade should have internals on par with the rumored Windermere specs because I work my phone hard, i.e., with multiple programs open, heavy games, etc. and I do run into performance slowdown.

Size-wise, I'd love something in the Z10's footprint with minimal bezels to get a close to 5 in. screen size.

In 9 days we will be getting a feel whether they will continue to make devices or not... before then, I will keep my expectation low on what they will offer in their next round of flagship touch devices.

It doesn't make sense that the earnings release in 9 days would mean anything with respect to continuing to produce devices. Aside from the Indonesia phone, they haven't released anything new in quite some time.

Try a year from now, after Windermere, the Classic model, and probably a Z30 successor have all been released. Even then, the sales cycle in closing large corporate accounts is not a fast one. Once all those phones are in production though, and have been cleared to be used by the major US providers, we'll be able to see where they really stand.

The upcoming earnings report means almost nothing, aside from whether they have slowed the bleeding more so that the company will have more time for all the various initiatives to begin generating revenue.

The upcoming earnings report won't show anything about revenue from the Ford deal.

It probably won't reveal much revenue yet from the EMM product.

It might even show a loss of enterprise-related revenue, because they still don't have much to offer
enterprise customers in terms of mobile devices. (Yes, I know you all love the Z10, Z30, and Q10,
and they aren't terrible. On the other hand, they all still have shortcomings that will be hopefully addressed
in the next round of releases, and the continued development of new apps just for BB10.)

I don't think that Prem Watsa and other large investors are especially concerned about this earnings report.
They are all looking at BlackBerry as a long term investment, and looking strategically at possibilities that
we probably haven't even thought of.

Even z 3 sales were at the back end of the quarter so they won't have much if any impact on earnings. If they can minimize the loss that's the best they can hope for revenue will still be diminishing. They don't have new products to sell so their is no new revenue stream. Its not coming until q4 and that's where things are do or die either it works or it doesn't. Let's hope they can work some magic and reduce old inventory that's about the best we canhope for
