Over the last three years we have seen a number of renders that never made it to retail....

And Chen's words at the Earnings Report did not sound like someone who was planning to move past renders anytime soon. And what some of us don't see... is how sales will somehow increase, thus getting him to that profitable point he is again "cautiously optimistic" about.

    Specs
    Leaked photos of beta units.
Web logs with unknown or new BlackBerry devices.
    Carrier testing reports.

When you see these, then you can get excited.
Some people from BlackBerry Central have been saying that in May we will get an official announcement of these devices. So I guess time will tell for now!

Looks like it's not the passport KB. That one doesn't have symbols on the keys iirc. Can't wait.

It could be. Just a different variation of it, with smaller keys.

These phones will happen and will be launched just like the Passport and the classic, it's a blackberry Chen thing, so the full touch will be released in September and the keyboard released later on. Im sure of it, blackberry need device sales, priv isn't cutting it, John said so himself. The price is just too damn high.

The current price cuts by some sellers doesn't seems to be a tell tale sign of PRIV 2 "coming soon"...

That's correct. They sound like the Passport.

16M camera, 3GB memory. Your move, BlackBerry. If you skimp on specs, you're toast.

That looks way better than other renders we've seen that resemble the PPSE. The Priv as a design basis is far more inspired.

    Budget logo, though. Shame.

They are offering nothing new except software. I think BlackBerry should focus on software, partner with successful handset makers such as Samsung, HTC and co

I wouldn't call HTC successful, but I agree with you. Let others build smartphones, and then secure them (both via sw and hw) and sell them splitting the revenue!

Even though I am not happy about blackberry going to android, I am glad they are still alive releasing devices . Currently on the Passport and I love it but I miss the one handed blackberry . So I will have the Rome for work and the Passport for at home .

I have few questions though ...

Will the remember app be still be running on the Rome ?
What's the timeframe on this device?
Whats this I read about the fingerscanner ?

    thx

Yes it has been posted. It's a BlackBerry Classic photoshoped on the body of an iPhone.

I don't want to hope for a bb10 device as we heard JC had declared that there won't be one. I won't get an iphone. It left me with android. And if I have no choice to use android, I would rather get one by BlackBerry. And please, one with pkb. Even now I'm using both Classic and Passport.

Competing in the android marketplace with a solid mid-range phone at a reasonable price point was a possibility, in my opinion, until the release of the OnePlus 3. With its current flagship specs and a $400 (USD) price tag, it's a wonder anyone could compete with it head-on. What BlackBerry needs to do, if they're going to remain competitive with an all-touch device in that market, is to highlight how they offer a superior service, by highlighting security enhancements (a la Blackphone, but more accessible) a long-term commitment to support and updates (Nextbit and Nexus products already have such commitments), Blackberry keyboard/hub/etc. of course, and something else, something unique.

Forgive me if I am wrong but I think that's what they doing already.
