Does anyone think that a Blackberry slider is secretly the Blackberry Milan. I think that a slider is a nescessary bridge between the touchscreen, witch is what a lot of consumers want, and the physical keyboard, which is a Blackberry staple. I think that between the all touch, physical keyboard, and slider, RIM could be saved. So based on these thoughts, does anyone think the Milan could be a slider.

The first two phones are full touch and slider. Not sure why they have not planned a Bold 9900 type BB10 phone but it is not in the cards for launch

How do you know that the second ever BB10 phone will be a slider? from the leaked details on N4BB here: Exclusive: BlackBerry 10 L-Series (All Touch) & N-Series (QWERTY) UI, Specs - N4BB , the first qwerty will be a bold like device. In additional evidence, N4BB also attained details on the M series being the slider models

RIM assuming it survives will be going down to only four models next year. One is a Curve low end device running the current / updated OS 7 etc...the other is a Bold high end device running the current / updated OS7 etc.

The two BB10 devices that will be launced are the full touch and the slider. Personally I think it is mistake to not offer initially a Bold 9900 type BB10 device.

My educated guess says the slider won't be the second blackberry 10 device. For one thing, the non-slider, bold style of phone outsold the sliders variants by a significant factor.

I'm not sure if the "Milan" is the slider version, but the slider will be perfect for what BlackBerry 10 has to offer. Taking away the trackpad and front 4 buttons will work nicely having a keyboard that is hidden and then slides out. I just think the Bold style with just a keyboard looks a lil funny since they are taking away buttons and trackpad.. the keyboard is just extra now and takes up extra screen space that is unnecessary.. The slider version will be the best keyboard style!

This is false. This was posted back in July, and it's been confirmed that the first two devices with be a full touch and a Bold style, screen&keyboard version. There has been ZERO OFFICIAL word about a slider since BB10 devices were announced.

The only issue i would have with a slider is the ribbon connector, they're so fragile. i'd prefer a qwerty/touch flip hybrid(Voyager-style but thin)

The Torch-style slider is my favorite form factor. Love them. While of course there isn't even one rumored yet, it surely would get me to consider BB10 even harder if there was one.

Guess we will have to see. RIM needs the first two efforts to take off and be successful before there are more planned.

Hmm, I wonder... Would RIM consider making a horizontal slider? I'm not a fan of them in general, as I find them to be less comfortable (current MyTouch 4G Slide user) than the vertical Torch series, but I wonder how a horizontal slider with the BB keyboard would look. That is, of course they were able to implement such a thing without adding too much bulk.

I love my torch, and hope that a BB10 slider is in the future, as I have two breakfast sausages for thumbs, making it difficult to text on touch screen phones

According to that article linked in one of the above posts, RIM were aparently doing the Milan, quit it, and then a while later started it again but as the BB10 M Series. So from what I've seen, BB Milan may never become true.

At this time, I can only assume its pretty dodo-like... RIM seems to be going for the touchscreen as its the most popular form factor and their trademark qwerty keyboard one for the time being... fewer SKU's, and more focus on making the experience on them as good as they can get it.

    Later on, who knows?

I hope they have a slider for Blackberry 10 in the making. Then all the form factors are covered and not too many models means less fragmentation....i suspect there might be....just not so soon.
