    In Nokia's case, it's called a USP.
They understood that WP isn't THAT exciting, so they tried it with awesome hardware, nobody else uses.

That's more of an effort than we can say BlackBerry did, solely looking at hardware.
OK, I get it - you've got a massive hate-on for Blackberry, for whatever reason. But, I'll bite one last time.

So Nokia stuck a 41MP camera in the phone for no apparent reason than "we can." Did Nokia sell hundreds of thousands of the 1020 because people said whoa, 41MP - dude, I gotta have it? No, it was a total waste of effort and resources. It would have been totally irresponsible for Chen to try and play along and send out an order saying "make a Z19 and a Q22 and stick a 53MP camera in them and ... well, let's see what happens." Hell, if "constructive criticism" here at CB is any sign of things, the same people who go out of their way to rip BB on anything and everything would have started in with any or all of the following (everyone, feel free to add in other comments to the list):

-- Really, that's it? The whole app problem, and you stick a bigger camera into a phone instead?
-- The company's going bankrupt and Chen's revolutionary device is this?
-- Blackberry is so dead they don't even try to hide that they've got nothing but gimmicks left.
-- lolerz, Blackberry's so cooked Chen should make the next phone 9x13 and hollow inside so at least we can bake with it when the company goes under.

I can actually see a use for 8GB of RAM in a phone - especially in a phablet of some type, especially if it's essentially a handheld fully-functional personal computer. I have no idea what purpose a 41MP camera serves that even a regular digital camera with 8MP doesn't, unless maybe we're talking about DIY porn and you want to make sure viewers don't miss anything.

It would be fantastic to dual boot Linux/Windows and BB10 running in the background all the time. Dock the phone and use Windows 8.1 or Linux or even a dummy tablet. Undock and use it as a BB10 phone. May be BlackBerry could be the first in this market, and spec freaks and tech enthus will be all over it. At least thats what I think.

Maybe that's the plan. To run windows and Linux too! That would be a dream device.

imaging a phone, you can buy w/ a special dock that connects to a keyboard, mouse, monitors, etc....
once you dock the phone, it brings up Windows 8 (or something), that still runs off your phone.. as a dual OS device.

    WOOOW...
    Kinda funny
    Was thinking exactly the same...

3 things we might need to make clear, before I am actually answering:

    1) Are you familiar with Nokia's rise and downfall?
As in, do you know what happened to them, why and how important they actually were before going to WP?

Because if not, a part of my answer is useless, as you might not understand the connections and implications.
(If not, research the Nokia 7650, the N90, the N95 and the Nokia 808. The answer for your question considering the camera should be self explanatory afterwards.)

    2) As gimmicky as you might think that camera was in that one phone... Overall, who has more marketshare nowadays? WP or BB10?

Who introduced a 1080p display, a quadcore and a state of the art GPU in one of their phones first? Nokia or BlackBerry?

    3) I really don't get why a certain group of members struggles so much with understanding that criticism does not equal hate.
    I have a Z10... Did you see my signature? I use CB10....

Therefore, I obviously like my BlackBerry enough to not have it replaced already with another phone (might happen when my employer decides to swith to iPhones).
I actually like them so much, that it would be a major annoyance for me if they stop making phones, because they failed reading the needs of the current smartphone market.

So yeah, I am not understanding why pointing out the reality, is considered hating by certain members.
I can like BlackBerry phones and their OS, while at the same time giving the objective statement, that 99.5% of consumers get more value for their money, when they don't buy a BB10 device. Reasons for this, have been stated before.

If a release for Q3 of 2015 is true I can't wait till then im due to upgrade my z10 Q1 of 2015.. and as much as I love the idea of the Q20 and Q30 I couldn't permanently go back to a qwerty...

Yeah, BlackBerry's timing for device releases was and still is atrocious sadly...
The Z10 launched 6-10 months too late. Which dragged the Z30 launch further behind as well apparently.
Both phones would have had competitve specs, if they would have launched those 10 months sooner.

So yeah, the dilemma continues with their other devices...
No upgrade for Z10 buyers, no phone with current specs, no real launch date for the Q10 successor.
If I am saying what I think about the classic and the 9900 rerun, somebody will call me a hater again
    So no comment on those.

I mean, it could be the fiscal Q3 2015, which would basically mean Q4 2014 in real world years.
It's still late, but way better than to wait anther 400 days.

If the specs are as such and its released Q4 2014 it will be the first quad core 64 bit phone with 4/8 GB ram on the market. So how is that late?

Sad but true I spose! Even to this day the specs are dated.. but they still do what they were made to do with ease? But the average customer won't understand that, sure it would be great to have 4GB of RAM and a 2.5 Quad-core processor Hopefully chen is on to it trying his best to fix the release dates and deadlines for when device are launched and made available, he will have the Q20 and Q30 out by December that can replace people's Q5's and Q10's but what about us who brought the Z10 at launch and want to stick with a full touch

I meant late in the following way:
It's still late for BlackBerry to finally launch a device that would actually compete spec-wise and might be marketleading somewhere.

If it launches in 2015, it's just late.
Should have specified that I guess.

    Haha, don't worry!
I don't take a lot of things personal, even less on the internet
(and I really fail to see something insulting in your post!)

I agree with you on that point so far.
I used examples from T.Heins, because that's what we currently have as a benchmark from BlackBerry.
Chen "only" launched the Z3 and as far as I know, that phone at least was planned before he became CEO.

So it's hard for me to evaluate his performance in terms of device launches.
From the way things appear, he is definitely a better choice for turning around BlackBerry than T.H.
But I'd like to see more of him, before judging his performance.

The Z30 was rumored to have a quad core at the time but other specs remained the same. BlackBerry actually did experiment with a quad core but BB10 wasnt ready at the time to support it, so they released the dual core instead. All other specs remain the same.

The Z3 was rumored to have a 720p screen but the concrete rumored specs and the leaked pictures all turned out to be true.

The windermere specs, is completely believable and the leaked pictures (yes the ugly ones) is most probably correct.

By the way if windermere comes out with the snapdragon 80x series cpu I would consider that current, not last year or dated tech.

By this logic if there was a full touch device (manitoba) is to come out this sept together with windermere, it will be QHD (2560 x 1440) just like the windermere is, and have a snapdragon 80x series processor 32-bit with 3-4 GB of ram.

I hope that this is the case. Launching a flagship high end full touch and qwerty together will end the age long debate of which direction should BlackBerry focus on. Also it will create lots of hype in the media. As far as released devices only the LG G3 has a QHD screen. I dont think samsung will release the S6 so soon.

No point crying over spilled milk. We have john chen now and he's the best so far to my knowledge.

If classic comes out in october its a full month ahead of schedule.

He has also stopped/slowed down BlackBerry's cash bleed a full quarter in advanced.
