4gb sounds logical. But 8 would be outstanding. Lol.

I think this specs are more realistic.

Also the screen will be QHD 2560 X 1440 and not full HD.

I think BlackBerry has decided to properly "leapfrog" the competition.

So after J Chen casually mentions maybe they might go phablet at some point, suddenly they will have one ready in December?
And suddenly 10.3 is for existing devices and 10.3.1 for the new flagships?

Seems like this is based on speculation and/or misunderstandings. Why would they want to replace the Z30 so soon?

    BlackBerry 10 signed.
Z30 came out with no push, no marketing, just silence. this, the classic and windermere is a new chance to show the real power of BB10 at its best.

You didn't miss something you just completely mixed it up lol. Classic is the Q20 with trackpad. Windermere is the (Q30) fat qwerty screen with new keyboard technology and a 1440p screen.

The Z30 was uncompetitive and BlackBerry knew it.
Marketing that phone, is just a useless money sink.
IIRC T.Heins didn't even show up for the launch. He knew why....

You can't sell the Z30 for the price of an iPhone 5s or a Samsung S4. It's just useless.

Yes, BB10 is great, yes I really enjoy it.
No, you won't get mass adoption if the mass would get a better product for the same price, which fulfils their needs better.

Uncompetitive ? That's just bull**** when you know Moto X had similar internals which also arrived roughly the same time.

And the MotoX was just as uncompetitive.
Did it break any sales record, or is it considered a success?

Edit: EVERY single phone from the competition for the same price, had better specs than the Z30 and the MotoX. Just as a reminder.

With those specs, and that ecosystem, the Z30 was DOA, for the mass market.

    It's just that simple.

Ok... got it. I just thought the windemere was a bad dream of a q20 rendition, oh man, I dot know about that fat thing, I suppose time will tell.
Im working on getting a z30 and doing a split shift until I get my hands on the Q20, looking forward to this surprise.
So is the q20 the "classic"? That's is what I understood.

    thx

For most consumers, the Z30 is a good phone, not a great one.
And good phones are to be situated in the mid-tier.
And with the specs of the Z30 ist exactly belongs there. Actually in the lower mid-range nowadays.

The Z30 was never worth 600$. Neither in terms of ecosystem, hardware or overall product.
The 0.5% who actually buy BB10 devices arw obviously excluded there.

So according to the roadmap, we'll be getting the LTE Z3 by the end of this month at the latest, and the Classic by next month at the earliest? I find that highly unlikely.

Didn't Chen previously mention the Classic would be released around November time...

    A few nitpicking here.
First, I would assume most people knows that the more ram cell a memory device has the more dynamic power and leakage power consumption will be. Therefore, standby + usage time will be lower and will need to be compensated with larger battery. That is one of the key reason initially iPhone and iPad have very low memory size in order to help with battery life.
Secondly, Qualcomm own ARM v8 core based chip is sampling late this year and there is no way a product based on it can be on the market by next June. Development time + design verification + certification will push it further. Rumor on the street is that Qualcomm will try very hard to align the production to Samsung S6 launch. I don't believe BBRY will have any push to have the first dips on the next gen high end device given that BBRY is not even a first tier customer now.

    Let's say it like this....
I really don't want to look up every review of the Z30 to link it here.
You will find out, that the Z30 will not be ranked higher than an iPhone or xyz high-end Android in any review, from a non-fan site.
(maybe there will be the odd one out, but yeah, not much more)

Also winning ONE competition, seems to be irrelevant in the grand scale of things, called smartphone sales and marketshare. At least for BlackBerry.
