8 GB of RAM. They shouldn't even have wrote that lol. I will **** my pants twice if it really has that much RAM lmao.

I wonder if this is the savior device Chen mentioned that will take customers from other platforms. I thought it was supposed to be 64 bit octo-core device? Lol I'm just gonna sit back and wait for more solid leaks

If it's going to be on at&t - great.
IIRC, ATT passed on the Z30 to offer the next all touch later on.

Don't know if that's realistic, but if it is, BlackBerry is going to show up on a few tech mag front pages. Interesting.

Marketing and device sales in one, now there's a novel idea for BlackBerry. They desperately need this type of attention.

Seems like this is based on speculation and/or misunderstandings.
I think that could be true.

Why would they want to replace the Z30 so soon?

    BlackBerry 10 signed.
Because the Z30 going by specs, is some 3 generations old already, and wasn't a true flagship at launch?

Or maybe because the Z30 surely does not qualify as a commercial success?

    Just some obvious thoughts...

Jokes aside if these specs/device are true then I'm very excited!

    That's what you think!
While the rest of the world starts to deploy 2k screens, the real diehards in here still debate why a 720p display was the obvious and right choice for the Z30.
Meanwhile the LG G3 has a 2k display and better battery life than the Z30... And a better launching price...
As the youth says nowadays: #Yolo

    8GB RAM?

Great, now people are gonna be disappointed when their next BBRY doesn't have that lol.
The phone probably doesn't have to have 8GB of RAM, but it has been quite some time since BlackBerry actually impressed anyone outside of these forums, with the specs their phones use.

You also don't need a 41MP camera - but that didn't stop Nokia from putting one on the Lumia 1020.

    In Nokia's case, it's called a USP.
They understood that WP isn't THAT exciting, so they tried it with awesome hardware, nobody else uses.

That's more of an effort than we can say BlackBerry did, solely looking at hardware.

Might be overkill for QNX but there are customers who buy based on specs alone, so who knows.
    Exactly!

And it's impossible to market anything nowadays using the, "we have just enough" computing power on this device" angle.

Weren't people also complaining the B10 devices didn't stack up against the competition hardware-wise?

Yes, the 8 GB RAM is interesting. If it stays, them we know something is up in terms of functionality. Very exciting.

    That looks wicked!
That 8GB definitely looks like an overkill,
8GB isn't overkill if it's meant for a desktop replacement.
I think it's a mistake - it's probably 8GB memory (internal memory) that they might have mistaken to mean RAM.

I call BS. Either everything is made up or Manitoba isn't coming Q4 or the specs are incorrect.

BBRY is reliant on Qualcomm chips and we haven't even seen the Snapdragon 805, yet. No way does Blackberry (or Samsung or Sony or anyone except maybe Apple) have a quad core, 64-bit, 8 GB RAM coming out so soon.

The specs are so way out there from where we are technologically.

imaging a phone, you can buy w/ a special dock that connects to a keyboard, mouse, monitors, etc....
once you dock the phone, it brings up Windows 8 (or something), that still runs off your phone.. as a dual OS device.

    WOOOW...

Samsung could produce a phone with those sepcs without a problem, today.
You know who produces the chips for Apple? Samsung

But that isn't what Samsung wants, or any other established manufacturer, because it would actually lower their profits.
It's more intelligent in today's market, to release incremental updates and cash out every year on slightly upped specs instead of releasing a super phone.

The LG G3 is a very good example for that. The tech crowd celebrates because a manufacturer finally added "something" new, apart from upped clock speeds.
The specs from the manitoba are totally feasable.
But I don't expect them, seeing BlackBerry thinking that Z30 was a flagship when it launched.
