If they can fit all those specs into the phone pictured, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat

I totally can see Thor saying like he said when he revealed the q10 and the z10: "arent they B-E-A-utiful ?"... now he will say something like: "Isn't it a beast?"

QNX does seems to be faster with better specs, duh.. that is expected.. but somehow, the galaxy series of samsung all of them from 1ghz mono, to 4 and 8 cores cpus all of them shows lagging... quick example for my case is when I go from DIAL PAD to CONTACTS, in the phone app.. it takes some time... or when Im moving through the home screens and suddenly I open the apps tray, not to mention that it restarts a lot...

I think you must have meant, "Isn't it a brick!" I wonder if those very first cell phones were actually used as weapons ;p

I think they are just pulling specs out of their arse at random, there is no way they would jump right to the high end of the quad core clockspeeds when they have more than amply shown just how well bb10 runs on a dual-core, the 4gb of ram is equally rubbish a guess as they made the jump to 2gb already and 4gb would be mostly unused which is a waste of battery life.

Nobody is doing 1080p in a phone as small as 4.65" and BB are not going to be the first to do that, indeed it is more likely that they would stick with 720p even with a jump to 5" (far more likely size for a large screen model at this point) because it would be the extra screen real estate which would be the main change of a larger model rather than them needing to immediately having to jump up to 1080p.

The battery size is about the only thing that was feasible out of their guesses.

I hope they will bring out a beautiful device. They need to drop the plastic and move the charging port to the botton of the phone.

Nokia and Samsung phones have them at the bottom. Sure there are others.

4.8" actually and is the only one below sub 5", none of which invalidates my point about BB not being the type of company that would leap into the pointless spec race by getting a smaller 1080p display.

I mention this in another thread....

    According BlackBerry Developer's Website
The screen size for the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone (the first BlackBerry 10 touch device) is 768 x 1280 pixels. However, future BlackBerry smartphones will have the following screen sizes:

    All-touch smartphones: 720 x 1280 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio)
    Smartphones with a physical keyboard: 720 x 720 pixels (1:1 aspect ratio)
Designing for different screen sizes - BlackBerry Developer

If the 1080p rumors are true, I'm curious how much time in advance will BlackBerry tell developers to scale up their BB10 apps to a 1080x1920 resolution.

If those specs are to be believed this will be an absolute BEAST. This would be a spectacular device to have for this fall. I would actually camp in line for it.

The trouble here is that BB's stated spec is already being overtaken by the competition. It sounds like they are really committed to building a phone with the best spec available, and 720 just isn't going to cut it (especially if they're moving to a larger screen). As long as they maintain a standard 16:9 aspect ratio for a full-screen device, devs shouldn't have too much trouble.

Better: either Qi compatibility or old-school Bold-style charging contacts.

I find this hard to believe for one reason: resolution. The resolutions were standardised at 720x720 and 720x1280, so I think there'll be other bits of information we get before we see this device... I guess time will tell, but I remain skeptical.

I don't know, at 4.6 this really isn't in the same field as the Notes

I'm really hoping for a 5" screen. Nothing less to go against the Android bests out there.
