    I use a Z10 and I access it over wifi via the included device settings.
    On a computer that is on the same wifi network, I can type either the ip address or the specified network name.
    Is this possible on Android without an app? I work in a machine shop and I map a network drive to my BlackBerry. I can't install client software on the machine.

    Any searches I've done point to apps that let you do that or require extra software installed on the pc. Same with Windows phone.

    BlackBerry requires software (drivers) on the PC to make this work, so it's the same thing.

    We don't really know how the new BlackBerry launcher will work, so it's pretty hard to speculate at that level of detail.

    Hmmm, I'm not talking about having the drives mapped like in explorer. I never plugged my phone into the machine, I just specified a network path:
    //blackberry-z10/
    I added the path after that to a folder on the SD card, but I don't want to quote it because I haven't memorized it.
    It finds it on the network. I tried with a windows phone and it doesn't even show up as a network computer.

    Sounds like a question for an android forum, not rumored devices.

    You can access your Android phone files via WiFi by using apps such as ES Explorer, it will create an internal address like 192.168.1.122:3722 that you can access by FTP folder shortcut in Windows desktop.

    Well, if Venice proves to be what the rumors are, Crackberry will be an android forum soon. Just asking some questions to find out if I stay with blackberry for my next phone. It sounds like android does not perform the same as BB10 and will be less productive in my workplace.
