Someone left a comment in one of my other posts, "Z5 Ignored, Why? " simply stating, "A10 mini." Which got me thinking, how many people would by a phone the size of the Z10 with the same specs (rumored) as the A10? A phone like that would probably sell very well. I'd buy it. I'm not a fan of the phablet, but give me some hard specs, a good battery life, BB10.2+, and a good screen resolution and I am sold. I will admit I also would like to see some camera improvements, but I think an A10 mini would do well. I love my Z10 and I know there are phones out there packing more punch, just lacking BB10. However, with so many people out there who don't care how much they use the processor, they just think bigger is better.

Please weigh in, would you buy an A10 mini? What would you expect from it or want to see?

I agree it would have to be, moving the Z10 to the slot of an entry level phone.

From what I am seeing, the way the Z10 prices are dropping, I have no doubt that there will be a lower device, like the rumored Z5, but that phone will probably have its own selling points and sell to different people than those who'd by a Z5 in lieu of the Z10.

Dropping prices are fine with me. Gonna pick up an A10 in Dec for $300!

I would only buy the A10 if it was a mini. I'm personally not in to the phablet size devices.

I agree, Phablets aren't for me, but I really do think I could use the A10 Specs.

    Z10 is the A10 mini

Dude, the Z10 DOES have the same specs as the A10 for the most part. Same RAM, same internal memory, same camera front and rear and a Dual Core processor. There are some differences but the core specs haven't changed all that much and don't forget the Z10 has a removable battery and that in my book gives it a big edge. I rather a smaller battery that I can change if it swells than a bigger one that might brick my whole device.

I'm not experiencing any performance issues on my Z10. I really see no reason to bulk up the specs.. would I buy an A10 mini? Probably.. because I buy every new blackberry that comes out (the A10 will be an exception.. it's gonna kill me not to buy it, but it's just too dammed big).. But that would be the only reason.. buying it for the sake of buying it. There's nothing my Z10 can't do as is..

I think you'll find that the A10 profile is not much bigger than the Z10. The A10 just streamlines the face of the device.

In-hand, would you even notice that much of a difference? Doubtful. Especially with the streamlined glass-weaved back door.

    Glass weave is so sexy.

We'll see when it launches but I think it's going to be bigger then you think.. if you look at the picture you just posted and look closely at the bottom of both devices.. the Z10 is sitting a little higher up. And the A10 is still a good half inch taller.

Holding my Z10 in my right hand right now. I can't quite reach the cb logo button at the top left of this app, I have to hit it with my left thumb.. and that's about where the contacts app is sitting on the a10. Maybe I have small hands.. but the A10 would be a two handed device for me.

For pretty much everyone, moving into the 5" or larger screen range means that people are accepting the trade-off of more screen real estate at the expense of optimal one-handed use.

Correct. Which isn't an acceptable trade off for an extra .7 inches of screen real estate IMO

It is a good job that BB do not take a one-size fits all approach to their product range then isn't it, catering to an increasing variety of demand with the z10, q10, q5 and now this one.

Note that most pictures taken of BB 10 phones show the icon grid. That should be the Page users see after the start. Second, the UI is dull and boring to look at. It is not windows bad but the graphics are not iOS good.

I dont think just reducing the size of the A10 makes it a mini version of the phone. You have to downgrade its specs as well. Which is basically the Z10.

The horrible kiddish graphics on the iOS is one of the big reason why I didnt get into iPhones lol

Using one OS to benchmark another makes no sense to me, they all have their selling points.
